So i missed it?

So, I Finally picked up Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and although I am right at the beginning, I'm really liking it. I,d kill to see a game like this in 4k on the X, though... it's quite pretty.

I've been re-playing BOTW on my PC via CEMU. Even at ultrawide or 4k, the game still looks very similar to the switch version. Sure the textures are a bit sharper but its still hard to see visual differences between versions due to the art style. The big difference is frame-rate.

Picked up Yoku's Island Express and that Mario/Rabbids game was on sale.

And, I imagine the anti-aliasing? The aliasing is really the biggest issue (though I definitely noticed some occasional slowdowns at odd times.

Still, this game, as is in the assets department, at 4k with pushed out LODs and draw-in, would look incredible. Let's not forget the added color depth that comes with higher resolutions and maybe some HDR *commences dreaming.....

You're not wrong. The CEMU version seems to right the wrongs of the Wii U and Switch hardware limitations.

It is a looker on the PC. I'm playing at 3440x1440 with FXAA enabled and there's nothing like it. I can only imagine what Nintendo could do if the Switch was built like an Xbox One X.

Was bored so bought Donkey Kong tropical freeze... and it's possibly the best platformer I've played the last decade, would perhaps put Rayman Legends slightly above but not by much.
The way it blends music, much like rayman, with gameplay feels so incredibly good. And the music...I could put at least 5 of them on repeat just to feel happier. Really great game, not sure why it hasn't been hyped more, cause rerelease maybe?

I'm going to agree with you and think because it was a re-release. The Wii U had a ton of gems Nintendo pushed out. Just not an audience to play them.

Yeah, the game is amazing. One of the best games from last generation.

I need to get that. I played Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii and it was good. Never got around to Tropical Freeze though. Wii U had some gems for sure, glad they're coming over to the Switch.

I don't know why but I'm tempted to buy a switch, I've been off of Nintendo games since the N64 but the new smash bro's looks fun, Mario kart is always a good time and Zelda looks nice as well. Is it true that if you lose a switch or it breaks you can't just transfer the games to a new console? I've read that if you can't deactivate the original console you are screwed, this seems strange considering both MS and Sony allow this to be done easily.

For instance, through July 17 you can get the Nintendo Switch from Target's Google Express storefront for $224.99 via coupon code "EXTRA25". That's the best Switch deal we've ever seen. (Availability may vary based on zip code).

At that price, it’s more than worth it for Zelda, Mario, and Mario Kart alone, IMO.

Zelda alone is worth the price of admission.

Yup, then you throw in Mario and it's a wrap. Two generation defining games in the first year. What's not to love? Pull the trigger JinCA, you won't be disappointed.

That was a thing with the Wii/Wii U. Not sure about the Switch though.
