In Odyssey, I never even use the hat gimmick. I mean as far as throwing it out in front and using it to jump off of. Are there secrets to be discovered using that gameplay mechanic?

To get moons I'm pretty sure you do. Been awilhe. In the post game I believe a couple extra areas open based on moons collected.

Lol it’s not a gimmick, it’s a gameplay mechanic. That’s like saying riding a horse in RDR or using a gun is a gimmick.

A months ago since I played odyssey, but I'm pretty certain that there's multiple situations where you have to take control over others with the hat to progress the game. There's also moons to get with that mechanic.

Wow. Retro being moved off of whatever they've been working on the last 4 years and onto this is a baaaaaaaad sign. That studio is struggling.

Man the Joycons are pieces of crap. I wish they sold those cheap things separately..

I’ve already had really bad joystick drift on two sets.

Haven't used mine since I bought a Pro controller. Might depend on the games you play though if you need the Joycons. Either way, I strongly suggest the Pro.

Regarding some old discussion on Odyssey... I enjoyed it for what it was, just the same with Super Mario 3D World. I never played any of the other 3D Marios outside of a bit of Galaxy 1. I much prefer the 2D Mario games and thought New Super Mario Bros was really good on the Wii U. Haven't played the Switch version to know of any changes though.

Can you play with Pro controller in portable mode?

Still thinking about getting a Switch soon, or should I wait till new version releases?
