They are probably a million behind world wide, but MS also launched in less markets. What matters at this point is selling every console they can manufacture. The console race is not decided on launch day sales but how it pans out over the next several years. Sony obviously have a price advantage and its simple economics that a cheaper system will sell better than the more expensive system where there is feature parity. Its up to MS to show why the XB1 is worth the $100 more. If they cant do that then a price drop is needed.

I love my Xbox One but there is no denying it needs work. 90% of the complaints I hear are fully justified in my opinion. As it stands right now, my Xbox 360 arguably does partying and socializing better.

Agree with your point mostly. But I think MS allocated more systems per launch region compare to PS4, so the volume even out. I am not sure about selling out at the moment, as there are reports of ready stocks available for xbox, & PS4 is gone within minutes of sighting. but it is widely expected by most people, that the PS4 will sell much better, due to price point, as well as more powerful console.

Sony doing well/better in regions traditionally favor the 360 like N.A & U.K, & most certainly win by some distance in regions already favored PS brand, means MS have something to think about.

The only way I see XBOX can do better is to be able to sell to people not into gaming, but interested in the other media features, much better online experience, as well as kinect showing its potiential (but I am not holding my breath for kinect). These, or they have to drop their price soon.

If you can get them at Best Buy, you sure can't get them from ordering online. Just went to the BB website and all Day One editions are sold out. They do have "Shop Now" under the bundles, but once you click on them, it tells you that it is sold out. So much for that unnamed employee from BB trying to start a rumor unless he knows something that his own company doesn't know, LOL!

Considering my past experiences with Best Buy and "guaranteed" stock on several launch day items where I have been first in line only to find out they didn't have any (MS Surface for example)... I'd put very little stock in any reports from BB regarding their availability of any product, official statement or from a store employee that probably doesn't know how to query the system...

BB is consistently hit or miss when it comes to managing their stock and knowing what is available or not..

I did finally get my Surface from them 3 days after launch, but had to constantly call and check even though the manager had *promised* that the first one in the store would be held for me.. They were actually in the process of selling it when I called and pitched a fit (heard them verify with the manager and the tell whomever was at the register that they couldn't sell it to them because it was reserved...).

Does anybody remember the problems with Xbox live on the 360 when most people learned about what NAT was.It ain't always been rainbows and hand grenades.

Yep, but apparently people with open NATs have this too. For me getting my NAT open is very easy. I dont have to fill in all those numbers into my router for 360, i just put the 360's IP in the DMZ host of the router.

Microsoft’s Lift London studio to reveal three ‘innovative’ games soon
11.19am, December 3rd 2013 •

Dave Cook

Microsoft teased that its new studio Lift London was creating four new titles exclusively for Xbox formats. Studio head Lee Schuneman has now suggested that three of those games will be revealed soon.

During an interview with OXM, Schuneman said, “We’ve got a high bar for innovation. We have three cool titles in development that we’ll reveal very soon.”

The site adds that said titles are free to play, and will focus on the idea of “connected platforms,” so this could mean convergence across Windows phone, Xbox One and Xbox 360, or something quite different indeed. He added that the studio aims to, “build universes that will grow with the audience and follow them onto whatever device they own”.

I doubt they are a million behind. Sony announced yesterday that they have shipped/sold 2.1 million units WW. The XBOX ONE sold more than half that in its first 24 hours on the market. Then you see reports of the XBOX ONE dominating NA holiday sales. I'd say both systems are currently neck and neck.
