To add fuel to the rez fire, @thekevindent just posted this on twitter:

"Battlefield is running at 1080p on X1 and looks awesome"

Sorry on mobile so can't post link
No idea who this guy is, only heard of him yesterday due to his other post but if he's talking out his ass people are gonna rip him a new one.

Yeah, its a pretty bold claim to make on twitter. But it is also noncommittal, he can be both right and wrong at the same time. Even if the game isnt native, it still outputs @ 1080. But you know he should know the difference, so again, a bold public statement.

and here we go. digital foundary comparison video
xb1 looks better at times to me.

ps4 has a washed out look sometimes.

xb1 has really bad aliasing problem.(would have helped a lot if it could run at higher resolution)

really disappointed in both consoles. Really, both company's dropped the ball in terms of horsepower.

Shadow/lighting problems with PS4 and X1 (more so with PS4) as well as banding (less color depth buffer). Better fidelity textures on X1 (crisper), yet uniforms at places look different (PS4 has more camo variation). Weird, almost equal back and forth pluses and minuses. Aliasing issues are about even. Both seem to be on par with particle effects.

Some easy to see areas...

Shadows/lighting: 45sec (PS4), 3:10 (X1), 3:20 (PS4)
Texture Fidelity: 2:35, 4:10 (road), 6:00 (building)
Banding: 2:25, 3:25

At :58 and 6:15 seems to be clearer that X1 might have higher resolution due to more soft blur focus overall on PS4 version versus X1. Hmmm...

At 5:10 and 7:45 (and other points throughout) X1 seems to have better clarity, color gamut and better lighting effects not to mention sharper texture quality. Again, Hmmm... Particularly paused about 7:54

Polygon is wrong by looking at the video comparison. It would seem to suggest lower res for PS4.

Not seeing the aliasing issues at all where X1 has it any different. In fact overall, X1 is the sharper and seemingly higher resolution version here.

You know, a quote from Polygon review...

Unfortunately, at this time, we can't provide final verdicts for either the Xbox One or PS4 versions of the game. Microsoft has specified that review scores must be held until Nov. 12th at 9:00AM PST, and we were not given the opportunity to play the Xbox One version's multiplayer component. Regarding PS4, there were serious stability issues that repeatedly led to crashes after multiplayer matches concluded. As the PS4 is still more than two weeks away from its Nov. 15th launch date, it seems premature to assume that this issue will not be resolved — and penalizing the game this far from the PS4's launch doesn't seem especially fair. We will further evaluate both next-generation versions of Battlefield 4 once they launch on their respective platforms next month.

I'm sure this will be solved, but who said that PSN is more advanced than XBL...

In all honesty, I wish that DF video didn't have the console names attached to their respective captures. It would have been awesome to see the entire internet claim the picture on the right was better, only to find out at a later date that it was the X1 side that was on the right.

That would have been epic lol blind taste test kind of stuff...honestly that's the way it should be. We should see the comparisons blind all the way up to launch and then after the game launches the associations are revealed.

From some of the stuff ive seen its about equal but the PS3 version looksblurry in spots. I think its close enough to be a wash for the most part.

Seems the PS version lacks the contrast/"pop" that the XB1 is showing, but it makes it up with having a tiny bit of frame rate stability/regain. Some very minor jaggies on the Xb1, but ya gotta hunt for them.

Considering the write up and assorted of vids popping up I'm
still kinda on the fence to pick my personal winner. Seeing the washed out sort of look on the 4 on one vid but not another makes me think back to the gamma issues GT had in earlier PS3 vids.

To be honest tho, I'm not very impressed by eithier verion to warrant a console purchase over PC.
I had hope it would at least rival KZ or Ryse visually but I kinda left feeling "meh"
For its genre this release KZ tops all the other shooters so it looks like BF will go to my PC (or perhaps be my XB1 shooter :D) and CoD.....yeah that game is a hot mess not worth a comment.

But but... Polygon were moneyhatted!

Oh damn, it's already started:

"Digital Foundry is up there with Polygon as sites that have functioned like mouthpieces more than actually doing their job. Digital Foundry has gone out of its way to borderline promote the Xbox One over the past several months."

Will take some adjusting but nothing major.
Yeah, just posted it as info, not for anything negative :) something we might not know unless are told.

Oh geez, fanboys know no bounds when trying to justify their agenda.

So basically there aren't really any noticeable differences unless you have both versions hooked up right beside each other and are looking carefully for them.
