I guess I'll wait for the movie. I have always been a huge DC fan but I do enjoy and collect all things Marvel as well including all MCU movies so far. I just don't think many MCU movies are as great as critics made them out to be. I doubt Disney is the only major studio that pulls this kind of stuff. It's just that there have been claims about movie studios manipulating critics for their marketing advantage and there was no proof and this piece of info just slipped out from a movie critic so I thought I'd just post it here. If people don't like to talk about it, then I'll stop. I guess the point I'm trying to make is never let critics tell you what to see.

Don't trust critics but do trust the hardcore fanboys that were invited to see Justice League so they could tweet that its the best movie since Citizen Kane?

What Marvel/Disney movies did you think was not as good as the reviews made them out to be?

Me I enjoy comic book films no matter who makes them. My favorite comic character is Batman and I find his villains the most interesting. X-Men is my favorite team of characters. I would say Marvel/Disney has done the best movie-verse out of all the companies some really entertaining films and a few forgettable ones.

I just thought it was strange you posted Justice League reactions knowing none of them will criticize the film that saw it early and then post this about a Marvel film.

Did I tell anyone to trust them? Don't get me wrong. I take those early impressions (which I don't know if true or not) with a grain of salt myself. JL is my most anticipated movie right now so I'll post anything about it that I came across and I never ask anyone to agree with the contents. I want to be hyped myself. There's a chance that it might get a rotten rating on RT. But if you've been waiting to see a movie, then go see it even if it's only 10% on Tomatometer. And that's the point. The Tomatometer rating in the end is just there to help you make a quick decision at the box office. It only tells you what the popular opinion is and how likely you will end up liking the movie. It doesn't tell you anything about the quality of the movie and shouldn't be used as a standard metric to judge how good a movie is nor something that you should abide to when buying tickets at the box office.

To be honest, I think Ragnarok will be a good movie from what I've seen so far. How much will I enjoy it? I don't know yet but I plan to see it. I liked Thor 1 very much but didn't like The Dark World much and definitely didn't like GotG Vol.2 so I hope Ragnarok won't be too similar to it.

I was actually reluctant to post that picture and knew that it would trigger people. Just ignore my posts if you don't like them.

I think Winter Soldier, Iron Man, The Avengers are truly great and are among my most favorites. The rest range from good to mediocre, with a few forgettable ones like you said (I wish I could forget GotG Vol.2 with its weak plot, bland villain, and non-stop forced jokes and one liners a little faster).

Sure. I watch and collect all comic book movies. Even the bad ones like Ghost Rider, Elektra, Cat Woman, etc. I'm most emotionally invested in DC right now because I'm a big fan and also its movie-verse is younger and the tone is different so I can't wait to see what's next where as MCU has been around for a while and a lot of its newer movies are more of the same. I'm afraid I'll reach that mindset towards DC movies 10-15 years from now.

The movie looks like fun. Whining about cherry picking critics when most people have already made up their mind about whether they're seeing the movie or not is weak.

I saw the trailer before The Snowman and thought it looked incredibly cheesy. Not sure if I'll see it in the theaters, but with Movie Pass, it doesn't make sense to not see it!

I guess cheese is what it needed then, because this actually looks great compared to the last 2 crapfests. This looks fun like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Lol I liked the first 2 Thor movies.

First one was just okay establishing the character, but I liked The Dark World.

Maybe what is needed is to get Thor off Earth and fighting with allies at his power level.

I also wonder if Thor benefits from dropping Natalie Portman?

Unfortunately, the first movie established Thor as chums with Jane Foster and her scientist friends. This is not a good team up for an Asgardian Brawler and The Dark World was stuck with this.

He'll work better with higher powered allies like Hulk and basically dropping a mortal like Jane in favors of Valkyrie.

I barely remember the first 2 Thor movies, and I wasn't really that impressed when I saw them. Back then, I really thought Marvel was spreading too thin. That was before they really upped their game with The Avengers and everything after (minus Avengers 2). They aren't afraid to take chances and even correct the course are any property, on sequels. Sounds like this is the start of a Hulk trilogy within the universe. Very cool!

It's a strong contender for best MCU film yet, IMO. Hilarious from start to finish, but it has it's serious and heartfelt moments too.

Korg's the MVP though.

I hope there is a nod to this in the new movie. I would think Loki would be freaked out by even being near Banner remembering this.

Hulk_%281%29.gif

I'll say this: there are nods to things from both Avengers 1 and 2 in the film.

Yep to much comedy now in marvel films. Hoping infinity war is more serious.

I enjoyed it. I can see people being annoyed by all the humor though, if the cast didn't play so well off each other so well I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it.

I thought there was mostly good humor around Jeff Goldblum. It makes me wonder if after seeing him other veteran actors will be interested in roles like that.

I was just thinking the Elders of the MCU or the other old cosmic character are good for actors like Jeff Goldblum. I could totally picture Christopher Walken for example playing this type of character.
