Official Thread Titanfall 2

So the Nerf for Tone and Legion happened this weekend. Anyone notice any difference?

Haven't noticed any difference but I don't really play the Tone. I was using Ronin until every battle was nearly a Legion V Tone fight. I have been using Legion a bit and I don't see any difference. If I had to guess I would say his gun shield doesn't last as long.

So I discovered how to win Titanfall 2.

Alternator + Cloak + Battery + Amped Damage.

I went from around a 60/70 point game average to breaking 100 points per game. I got the alternator to level 8 in 4 games. The thing is just silly. Hip fire with 100% accuracy and huge damage output. I got 27 pilot kills in one game with it.

Just picked this up for $30 at Walmart (steal) and I am loving it.

That's a bargain!

Yeah for all my bitching about it I am enjoying playing it as well. It's definitely grown on me. It remains a pale comparison to the first one though. I'm hoping that the third one will have the multiplayer from the first one combined with the single player from the second one.

I wish more people would play the MP. It isn't perfect, but it is far better than the rehashed COD garbage that was released.

One question on the SP, why is Brain from Pinky and the Brain trying to capture me early on? :) ZOT!

Haven't played it in probably a week. The trial was awesome, but after playing it week 1, my buds and I aren't really feeling it anymore. And that's ignoring all the missing stats.

Games looks and sounds great. Lots of modes and it seems much more polished.

But the gameplay just seems empty. Maybe it's the maps are too big, or the AI grunts are fewer, or maybe playing the game which is old school (zero destruction.... you can't even break a window or shoot someone behind thin cover) after playing BF1 just seems archaic.

Since the sales estimates for TF2 seem mediocre, will be interesting to see what the final analysis is. Even if you ignore all the TF1 sales which were from $5-10 sales with free DLC (probably a few million), the sales from launch pricing looks like will be way more than TF2.

One thing that should boost TF2 sales (not captured until next NPD) is that Black Friday deals are happening now, while TF1 launched in March 2014.

Factors that should increase TF2 sales vs. TF1
- Released on more platforms (X1, PC and now + PS4)
- Released when there's higher X1/PC user base. Even excluding PS4, it's been 2.5 years since TF1. X1/PC user bases are higher
- Released during holiday timing (close enough), and for a sales boost Black Friday deals are happening now
- A much more polished game. Getting solid reviews and higher Meta score

Factors that should decrease TF2 sales vs. TF1
- Was there much EA marketing effort? MS promoted TF1 well
- Perfectly sandwiched in-between the two most popular shooters, BF1 (week before) and CoD (week after)
- No 360/PS3 versions
- It seems gamers on forums are more critical about TF2's gameplay tweaks after the beta

I don't watch the sales any longer for games, because they don't count digital. Digital is an overwhelming large percent of sales, and without those numbers, the charts are useless.

Yup. I buy just bout everything digital now, something I thought I'd never do too.

This game is f***ing pretty on PC; only played single player so far but damn it's a lot better than I was expecting.

Just beat the campaign. The campaign is great for several reasons.

1) Some of the levels are super clever. Reminiscent of Half-Life and Portal.
2) Your Titan, BT, is a more interesting character than the character you play.
3) Pretty good villains. They have personality and are fun to wreck.

I'm mostly through the campaign and I'm very surprised but I'm loving it. It is a shame that Call of Dooty gets all the sales. This game is way better than that. TF2 looks fantastic on the PS4 Pro as well. It must look sweet on PC.

Don't sleep on this game on black Friday sales.

Reading their most recent update reaffirming all DLC will be free, along with the in game store offering only cosmetic items with no RNG garbage, I feel like buying the game just to support them for old school policies. But I have people on Xbox and PC to play with.... decent sales now put the total to normal price so not bad.

Developer Respawn Entertainment has today detailed the contents of its first salvo of DLC content for Titanfall 2. The first DLC drop, dubbed Angel City’s Most Wanted, will be available from November 30.

The content will include the new Angel City map, a returning favourite from the original Titanfall, plus a new weapon (the Wingman Elite Pistol), a new Pilot Execution (‘Inner Pieces’, allowing players to “phase into an unsuspecting victim”) and six new Titan Kits (which are detailed on the official Titanfall site)

Titanfall 2 owners who pre-ordered the game will get access to the Angel City map from November 30. All other players will need to wait until December 3.

The update will also introduce an in-game store where players will be able to pay for new cosmetic content, though Respawn reiterated that its DLC plans remain as described.

We will have no in-game currency exchange. No locked loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry. No RNG.

“First let’s look at the big picture and make a crucial point about our DLC vision crystal clear: All maps, modes, weapons – anything that has effect on gameplay – will be free for all players that bought Titanfall 2,” the developer explained in its post. “We believe that in order to maintain a healthy community we shouldn’t be segmenting players behind paywalls for these things.”

“In addition to the free stuff, we will be opening a store in game with the launch of DLC #1 that will allow you to purchase new skins, camo and Prime Titans if you want for a modest price. We will have no in-game currency exchange. No locked loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry. No RNG. If you see something you like, you buy it and that’s it. These in no way effect stats and are purely cosmetic. We will have two Prime Titans available at launch. They have new chassis and assassinations but function the exact same way as their original counterparts.”

Despite Titanfall 2’s critical success Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella has conceded the studio is doesn’t know for certain if there will be another instalment at this stage. According to Zampella it’s “it's too early to tell” from a sales perspective, though he does feel it’d be safe to assume they will “explore more of [the Titanfall universe].”

MS Store isn't working for me. I can see their Black Friday deals page but if I click on a game I get an error.

I'm not overly surprised that its not selling well, and they have no one to blame but themselves and EA. The game is good and worth getting, but when you release your shooter a week after battlefield and a week before COD, you should know that is going to hurt your sales. They really should have pushed this title back to February or March.

I would be super pissed if we don't get another Titanfall because EA and Respawn couldn't figure out what any gamer over the age of 14 could have told them.

Yep, and even those of us who bought it aren't playing as much simply because of all the other games out.

Sometimes these game companies just seem to have no sense. Of course nobody is playing it, but the game is getting great critical reviews.

They'll still call it a "failure" because it can't compete with the BF and CODs of the world :smash:

Sadly considering how underwhelming bf1 is.

BF1 is growing on me, but it is sad to see everyone playing COD and nobody playing this. COD is a total rehash of BO3 and nobody seems to care. Actually it seems a little worse than BO3.
