What a let down. Lets hope EA make a SKATE 4.
 
I wish ea will see the inevitable failure of this game as a desire for skate.4, but they'll probably think it's that people don't want a skating game and therefore won't make a skate.4... :really:
 
The game is supposed to have controls like the original Tony Hawks, ( power UPS and upgrades now other things added)
 
The graphics look way outdated. Whats the story behind Tony Hawk? They cant afford triple A bugets? It looks horribly outdated like dreamcast in HD status.. I think even Tony Hawk HD looks better. I wouldnt sell it at full price. The gameplay sounds interesting though..

I liked the Tony Hawk games back in the day. THPS 3 on the OG XBox was the last game I enjoyed. The series went downhill after that.

Skate 2 was awesome. Would love to see a new Skate game.
 
Graphics is everything. And that is how quickly this game was judged. I love the modern gamer. :/

I don't care about the graphics one bit, it's the THPS style gameplay I don't care for anymore. It was cool for the first few games but they got more ridiculous as the series went on and once skate. came out THPS was irrelevant to me. I used to skate and so I played these games for the skateboarding, not the collect S-K-A-T-E letters or 'activate the dam by hitting the valves" type objectives, thats why the skate games resonated with me so much more. Don't think it'll ever happen, but if they make a new one of those, pretty much the only thing EA could announce that I'd care about from them...
 
Seriously? GTFO! f***ing Tony Hawk pretty much killed the Xtreme Sports genre in videogames and Activision has to come to terms with the fact that its time is OVER.
 
The graphics can be trash if it's half the fun that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 were. Those were the days.
 
Hilarious. The environments look okay, but the characters were obviously designed to look realistic so they look like they were photoshopped into the images. And if I'm remembering right, this is a full priced game right?

I'm in the camp that wants a Skate 4 (preferably more like Skate and Skate 2, Skate 3 wasn't as good IMO)

Really don't understand the cell shading THPS idea. A skateboarding game this gen could look amazingly real considering how good the Skate games looked last gen.

I kinda forget what skate.3 added besides the park editor, but thats one thing I'd say they'd have to keep in a skate.4, and ohh man do I want a skate.4 THPS5 here looks like s***.
 
What an odd looking game. It has the resolution bump, so shapes can be sharp, but the textures are a mix of PS1, PS2 and 360.

Looks like the game fits the tablet gaming market well though.

Pretty much how I feel. I never played Tony Hawk for its graphics anyway. The only Tony Hawk game that had impressive graphics for its time was the first Tony Hawk on the Dreamcast.
 
Those cel shaded graphics look fantastic. Everything about it has a pretty unique buzz about it from a visual standpoint. You don't usually see cel shades and photo textures combined like this. Pretty cool and unique look. They get the gameplay right and I might have to change my avy to old man Hawk.
