Want a buy, sell & trade forum?

I'm down for giving it a go. I'd rather trade/sell to peeps here than trade stuff in at GS or bother with EBay.

This sounds like an cool idea! The only one's I wouldnt buy s*** from is........all yall muffugah's!

No really, I'd be very interested to see how this would work.;)

Oh man, you guys don't use any Buy/Sell/Trade sites already? There are a few that I've used for yeeeaaars now, and since the day I first discovered them they've been a godsend. I've saved probably thousands of dollars, got my hands on some titles I never would have found in the wild, and managed to obtain items all in excellent condition. My library would be nothing like it is today without community bartering sites. Very helpful indeed!

Yeah, I've saved thousands of dollars as well on games. Last month, I bought two games from a person online (Forza Horizon and Assassin Creed III, 100% sealed) for only 25 bucks! Definitely a good deal right there.

I'd be for it. I've had a few occasions on these forums (and TXB) where I've had items I'd like to sell cheap to help another member (ex: another member is looking for a cheap GPU upgrade and I have one they may want) but I don't even mention it because I don't know the rules on selling through these forums.

Over at TXB I did sell/trade a few Steam games and everyone always went away happy, but physical items like the aforementioned GPU are a different matter because they aren't simply just codes traded through chat.

A while a go I was part of a different gaming website kind of like this one, but quite smaller. We traded games sometimes and it always worked.

Yeah I think it'd be a good forum, I'm sure people would rather the forum members get a good deal than some random joe on Ebay.

Yeah, small community, like here, shouldn't be any problem since I'm sure at least 85% of us have been known each other for many years. This forum is more of a "family forum" to me. Teamxbox has always been a family-forum to me for many years.

I was a big Ebay user in the past for both buying and selling things and now use Amazon exclusively for selling my unwanted games or buying used games (and other merchandise). So right now I'm pretty comfortable and satisfied with using Amazon but will keep an eye on this and see how it goes.

I'd be all for a free to good home thread (yes one like gaf).

I don't think I would buy/sell anything on here though, due to there only being a few UKers here.

I think adding a Classifieds section to the site would be awesome and might actually boost hits and membership quite a bit as people are looking for a simpler and cheaper alternative to Ebay.

A couple of sites I use for their Classified section are Rimfirecentral for gun related stuff and Rigtalk for music gear.

Pc parts are about the only thing I'd be interested in selling as well. I always try to sell my old pc parts to make some money back.

I'm all for it. Not sure how much I will use it but I have been buying and selling on eBay since 1999.

PS, I can't type anything in the reply boxes using IE, had to open FF to post this.

Well at the rate I post, it may be awhile before I hit 100. I visit often but only post when I really think I have something of substance to add to the conversation. Other than that, seems like it's a good enough idea.

I think it's a good idea if the demand exists.

I can't see why you would limit what items can be bought or sold though. I can't see the place turning into eBay, so if someone has something they think someone else in the community may be interested in buying, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to list it, irrespective of what the item actually is.

Just my 2 cents.

Not something I'm likely to use but not a bad idea.
My recommendation would be that the forum only be accessible by users with 100 posts or more.
Forum members with more of a vested interest in the community are far more likely to conduct themselves honestly.

Edit - Didn't realize the minimum post idea had already been brought up.

I for one would be interested in checking this out. I get the 100 post requirement even though I already recognize most posters from TXB. After around 10 years I only had 1,300 or so post I think so this will take me a while considering I am more of a lurker unless I feel I have something meaningful to contribute or someone is spewing false information.

I buy, sell and trade stuff all the time on the site. I would always have good stuff to list
