Anonymous have sworn to attack the cyber assets of ISIS as revenge for the Paris attack. Its worthy of note that the terrorists used the PlayStation Network chat system to coordinate the attack. If this is confirmed PSN users may be caught in the cross-fire if Anonymous launch a massive attack on the PlayStation network to get at ISIS.

Yesterday, Belgium's Internal Affairs Minister said that ISIS members might have used the built-in PlayStation 4 chat system to coordinate attacks. If this information is confirmed by French investigators, expect the group to take aim at Sony's service in the coming months

They didn't use the playstation network chat system to coordinate the attacks. It is wild speculation that they did, all based on the finding of one PS4 console.

Attacking PSN is not attacking ISIS like they claim they will do. All I am seeing is a group who want another opportunity to hit gaming networks an ruin the night for gamers.

Can someone explain to me how someone attacks a network? I'm genuinely interested.

I don't think attacking PSN is the answer though.

When it comes to PSN or XBl they tend to do DOS/DDOS attacks, which basically floods the network with too much traffic.

*Edit* Guess I should add that this wouldn't make much sense for this particular issue. So, one would assume they will actually hack PSN and try to get gamers information. I have no clue how they would do that.

DDOS is counter productive in this case, the more likely scenario is hacking of accounts supposedly used by ISIS members. In any case I would make sure any credit card information is not stored on PSN for now.

They likely did use PS4 to chat but so what.
Anonymous act like they are fair and all but plan on attacking people who had nothing to do with the BS?

Wait, ISIS games on PlayStation? It all makes sense now!

Maybe that guy pleasuring himself in front of a PS4 was ISIS sending some sort of Morse code signals?
