Finally have my privileges to post in this subform, thanks Plainview!

I recently switched from a Samsung 50" 720p plasma to a LG 60" 1080p plasma during the ps4/xbox one launch. The TV is specifically called LG 60PN6500 and it's a great value if you are planning on getting one for the basement. Amazing PQ and accurate colours when calibrated. I opted to get plasma since I knew I would be using it in the basement in a dark area so glare issues weren't a problem and I've always liked the natural look of the plasma over the LCD's.

The TV is sub $1000 and has been seen on sale for as low as $600-800 range.

The only negative I would post about it is the glare issues if it's in a bright room.

What TV do you guys have and why did you choose it?

The 2012 version of the Panasonic VT30 (I think that's the right year, the one with the fading colors fix.)

65"

Probably getting a 70+" 4k set later this year.. we'll just have to see about the prices.

Nice, that'll probably be like 10k since I've seen 50-60" 4k TV's for ~5-6k?

The new "this year" models aren't out yet, I think.

Prices are expected to have fallen.. so your $5k should get you a bigger screen this year, with better features.

That's my "max price".. $5k.. if I can't get anything bigger than 65"'s I'm waiting another year.

55" Samsung. It's two years old. Straight LCD. Was on a ridiculous sale for $699 and I jumped on it.

If you're not in the market for a 4k tv don't go and look at them. I made that mistake at Best Buy during Xbox One launch. They're glorious. I'll be able to resist though for a pretty long while I think. I don't upgrade TVs that often. I just got rid of my HD tube that was in my bedroom.

If I ever build a theater room it will be projector all the way.

I've got 2 plasmas I game on. Specifically a Pioneer pdp5010fd in my office and a Panasonic TC-P55GT50 in the family room.

I've got 3 LG tv's. One something like 24" in the kitchen (lcd), one 42" in the living room (plasma) and one 42" in my games room (lcd).

I'm not some LG freak, I just happen to have ended up with 3 of them.

Nice. Keep us updated when you get it. Would like to see how PS4/Xbox One look on them.

Thats the VT50.
Which I also have but only the 55". Best TV I've owned, not upgrading until OLEDs are cheaper.

Sony XBR 7 40" 1080p LCD 120hz
Older tv but it gets the job done.

TC-P65S60 currently.

Low input lag, some of the best combinations of features and setup from the VT, ZT and G series.

Samsung UA46F7100.

Just bought a 39" Samsung FH5000. It's perfect for my room. Had a 32" Samsung for about 6 years before that. It just felt so old compared to these newer TVs so i had to make the switch. I love it.
