What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

The teaser I saw for The Terror did make it look interesting, but I bought the book earlier this year and haven't had a chance to read it yet, so I'll probably hold off on watching the show for now.

It’s really good! One episode left, but I don’t see how they can have more than one season, if they were even planning to...?

So I finally finished The Terror and I'm going to not recommend it even though it was fantastic.

Why? Because the last two episodes are a bit disturbing to say the least and there was never going to be a happy ending to this story since it is based on real events.

Great mini-series (can't even imagine a second season, that would be dumb but who knows) and really too bad that happened to real people way back when.

Isn't there one more episode? They're calling it a season finale, which makes me think at least 1 more season.

Huh, looks like you're right about that. Thought I'd watched the last episode, would have been an appropriate ending IMO.

I guess there's still some survivors to follow.

I can see another season I suppose that focuses on what's happening in England and the several searches that were done afterwards.

Just read the wiki on the Franklin Expedition and it's pretty interesting. Crazy that they only found the ships a few years ago and we'll probably learn more over the next few years of what they find (they can only do their research in august and september because of the climate apparently)

I have 4 episodes of The Terror stacked on my DVR. It was good but not great. It just never sucked me in fully.

There's just too much good TV and not enough time.

The Terror was good. Saw the finale. I doubt there's second season to it.

It is one of those shows that could go anywhere. Could do a prequel focusing on the natives, could do a sequel. Could end up being a standalone season.

13 Reasons Why: not as funny as the first season. And kind of weird. I think the story should have finished at the end of the last season.

I'm torn between thinking that shows like this are important, and shouldn't be censored in anyway, but then I just KNOW a bunch of Tumblr kids are going to kill themselves after seeing it.

The actors talk at the start about not watching the show, or viewing with an adult, thent list a bunch of resources to seek help, but when you're depressed and in a masochistic and hateful place, you're never going to heed that advice. But an argument could be made that when you're in that place, a show isn't going to change that too much either.

About 2/3rds of the way through, the reality of "It doesn't get better." Hits hard.

When you're actually hoping that a kid will take a gun and shoot up the kids and teachers at his school, it made me question the ethos of broadcasting it...

Again... Super ambivalent about it.

I enjoyed it. I was disgusted by it. It made me hopeful. And it made me hate a lot of f***ed up s***.

I think the show needs at least an R18+ rating. The subject matter is more mature than showing drugs, nudity and violence ever will be.

The same as season one, much like in real life, when you think you can't fall any lower than you are, there's normally some bastard that's waiting to kick you whole your down.

Oh, but one thing I overtly take issue with is the adult female shoe choices for the costume design. Theyre ALL from the same collection, except for a pair of Doc Martin's.

Finished Stranger Things season 2.

I have mixed feelings about how the show is almost a Stephen King remix. I suppose though it is enough of a remix that it hasn't been to predictable yet, though Billy Hargrove seems like such an obvious setup to become a Henry Bowers type character which is a bit awkward with IT Chapter 2 coming.

I also wonder how long the parents in the burbs can remain mostly oblivious while it's up to young kids to fight back against otherwordly horror.

Otherwise, the show has many strengths going for it. It impresses me that a show can be done this well under Netflix with a pacing that is completely free of Commercials and also that Stephen King himself is fond of this show.

I started 2nd season and couldnt even finish the first episode... i was like "i dont really care", i was satisfied enough after season 1 and without a interesting story element like the tapes i am not really gripped

Yeah, they try to replicate the tapes with Polaroid photos, but they're not exactly interesting, and they kind of fumble with what to do with them by the end.

Watched almost the entire new season of Arrested Development. While not amazing, it's much better than what I remember of season 4. Might finish it tonight.

It went very cliche for season two. It didn’t do anything that wasn’t done before.

The Magician's: love it! It's like Sex and the City meets Gossip Girl goes to Hogwarts.

Seriously, check out how they use pop culture code. They go on to refer to Dumbledore as 'that creepy old pedophile who stalks kids' when referring to 'asking for help'

Britannia - Season 1 - felt like I've been on an acid trip. Thought it may be a stop gap between GoT but its pants.

I’ve been a big Josh Gates fan since his original show Destination Truth on Sci Fi Channel. He’s had some entertaining shows over the years. His newest show Expedition Unknown moved from Travel Channel to Discovery Channel. Watched his two new episodes over the weekend about a place in Central America I’ve never heard about called El Mirador. It is a very intriguing place, the size of Los Angeles. With what could be the biggest pyramid in the world. Crazy part is it’s in the middle of the jungle and is thousands of years old. It predates the Mayans. Interesting stuff.

Started season one of Stranger Things. Been on my list for a long time and finally got through the previous list of shows to watch. Great first episode.

I watched the first season and it wasn't bad.

Finished season 1 of Mindhunter on Netflix. Very good. It is about two FBI agents in the 1970s who basically invent modern day profiling. Very slow paced but kept me interested the whole time. Basically they spend a lot of time interviewing killers who are already caught. Worth a stream if you're into that sort of thing.

I can’t wait for season 2.

Great show. I really enjoyed it also. Loved those Ed Camper interviews.
