One show I have to admit I'm hooked on is the Rookie with Nathan Fillian.

Whatched all of Hilda on Netflix with my niece. It’s an adorable, mysterious and well thought out world, with nice twist on what some may assume going into it for the first time. Very fun, love the art direction, just fantastic. Voice acting and music feel as if they came out of an indie movie but a great one. If I’d have to review it in one word, “charming” would it be.

True or False...

We haven't gotten a show on the level of The Wire, The Sopranos, or Breaking Bad in the last 10 years.

If so, why is this the case?

Luther, well, it's Idris, shot well, and an interesting story. SoA, I thought it was laughable before I watched it. When I gave it a shot, it was awesome.

Yeah musical montages are enjoyable but all time great? helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll no. Kurt Sutter is talented as his work on The Shield (aka The GOAT) shows but you can't let him have full control. Show went off the rails real quick.

I can’t keep up with the quality shows over the last few years. Pretty much too much worth watching now days, my backlog is huge.

I disagree. Yeah, there were montages, but the meat of the show was pretty damn good.

It's a weird problem to have. I think I should checkout a show and find a sh¡tload of shows available now. It's hard to choose.

Season 2 of The Wire disqualifies it as a great show. That garbage was unwatchable.

I started Black Mirror I’ve been putting this one off for awhile. Watched the first two episodes. The 1st (pig f***er) was just ok. The 2nd episode (slaves got talent) was a very interesting look at an alternate future I really liked that one. I hope there are more interesting concepts like that episode.

Black Mirror is fantastic. The only real issue is that a few episodes aren't as great as others. Once you hit one of the great ones, you'll be hooked.

It does. There's not many down episodes after that. I almost gave up after the pig one. Glad I stayed with it.

I can re-watch GOT anytime. Just brilliant. Even after reading the books and seeing the episodes, they are still amazing to watch again.

IIRC Black Mirror gets way better in season 2. It gets a little more nuanced. Even when you understand the formula, there's still episodes that blew my mind. There's definitely some "meh" episodes mixed in. Don't let those slow you down. I don't know if it is my "favorite" show, but it definitely blew my mind more than anything else.

I'm going to start Game of Thrones again to prepare for the final season.
I was hooked for the first seasons, then in season 3 (I think) the ginger for tortured and when they demolished his testicles I stopped looking, never felt the urge to watch after that. It seems to only get better though according to the general public, so I guess I need to try again at some point.

I enjoyed GoT but haven't seen the most recent season yet. Honestly I don't know if I will. Just seemed to drag on for too many seasons honestly. Maybe there is some super cool twist or something that will happen but I really just don't care anymore. Probably doesn't help with the delay in seasons and being shorter etc.

I hate to admit this, but I'm enjoying Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina quite a bit.
