4K is currently limited to 60hz in 4K mode.is it better to get a 200hz TV over a 100hz?
Higher hz are possible in lower resolutions

the screen to frame ratio is smaller/thinner bezelsis it just me or do the newer 65inch tvs look like they have smaller screens than older 65inch tv's? I have a 65vt50 plasma in the living room. Went to go check out the 2017 LG 65inch oled..and it looked hella small
I am on 75 now but previously 65 and before that 55...I've never ever done this before but I am seriously considering upgrading to the 65 inch B6 OLED. It's a price I've never ever paid for a TV but man, it would be glorious to not only upgrade from full HD to 4K but also a much bigger screen. Used to have 55 inch.

Anyway the jump from 55 to 65 is significant and 65 inch is the sweet spot.
Oh you!It all depends on how far away you are from the set, what resolution the content is, so really, 65" is not the "sweet spot" for everyone.
I'm about 10' back from a 92" projector screen, where the projector is 1080p. I cannot make out individual pixels at that distance. I can sure tell when a bad transfer has happened to a Blu-ray disc and also tell you how crappy Comcast cable looks on alleged "HD" channels. It all depends on how far away you are from the set, what resolution the content is, so really, 65" is not the "sweet spot" for everyone.
Any good monitors around? 4k ext.

There is no substitute for immersion, in my book... as long as it's a quality image. Most movie theaters still have projectors at 2K (1080 vertical line equivalent) If you can't go big at 4K, then when can you?
If my projector was 4K (can't wait till the day it is) I could definitely go with a bigger screen. Not sure if I will or not, though. I'm sure it will look a lot sharper on the 4K content, even at the same screen size, though.
Comcrap or s***cast cable?Man you aren't kidding, Comcast "HD" channels are atrocious looking, they just HAD to have a zillion HD channels so they compressed the channels so they could fit 3 or think 3+ HD channels in one QAM. Cable is NOT the way of the future, IPTV is for sure.
True 4K games are on the Pro now and will be on the X before those games which I doubt will be true 4K release.Well according to science, I'm going to need to sit close to a 65" inch TV otherwise 4K won't matter. Lol
I am looking to go from 55 to 65 inches. Since I haven't tracked this stuff closely before, what sort of price drops (percentage) would you expect waiting until the early part of 2018? Someone told me that tv's drop in price around March when they announce the newer models. If I'm going to save more than 25% waiting a few months, then I will. I figure the true impact of X1X won't really be felt until either Red Dead or Anthem release anyways.

We know every bodies needs are different but coming from smaller to larger 65 inch is a favored size. In my situation I sit close to all of my displays and started with a 36 inch CRT HDTV all the way up to the 75 inch I own now...each upgrade I felt maybe I should of went bigger until I hit 65 inch. Why do I have a 75 inch now well...why not? Bigger isn't hurting a thing
PM youThink I've decided to target the 65" 2017 Samsung 8500 curved. Appears to be the sweet spot for gaming and price. Only reason I'm sitting back is I won't be taking in too much 4K content before X1X launches and I'm hoping that there will be additional price drops between now and the end of the year. Retail is 1800 with open box around 1600. Anyone feel there are better values for 65" staying under 2K in price? It's use will likely be 70/30 gaming vs TV/movies.
Nice! That's the one I have (I love it)- of course, it was 2500 when I bought it (after tax)! Great TV (low Latency with HDR in game mode!), though Val will Poo Poo it because it isn't full array.Think I've decided to target the 65" 2017 Samsung 8500 curved. Actually scratch that- I have the 2016 model. I can't say anything about the '17s. I imagine they'd be better, but you never know. Does rtings.com have reviews for them yet?Think I've decided to target the 65" 2017 Samsung 8500 curved. Appears to be the sweet spot for gaming and price.
