Which 4K HDR TV are you planning to buy for Scorpio or One s?

No its not the same set and things don't make sense if you read through the thread people are pointing out things like it winning motion and best HDR being off plus people who attended are giving different opinions also the Z9D was the closest to the reference monitor.
Opinions are opinions and just like Plasma I don't like OLED for gaming and rather pay more for a premium FALD/LCD....but that's me.

Anyway Samsucks Supposed super duper edge lit QLED looks terrible vs OLED/FALD......
Its on the far right

I never said it was the same set, I said it has the same PQ as the more expensive E7 which is fact.
But anyway I'll trust the professionals that calibrated the sets and the judges over LED fanboys crying cause their favorite set lost.
Congrats again LG.:bang:

Here's the general ratings for electronics:

Best bang for buck
Samsung, LG, Vizio

Quality (ignoring costs)
Tops: Pioneer (but now dead)

Next Best: Panasonic, Samsung, LG

Mid Tier: Vizio, Sony, Sharp

Low End: Whatever is left.... Sanyo, RCA, Westinghouse etc....

Sonys OLED is a ripoff imo since you can get a better OLED for cheaper, but Sonys OLED was the runner up beating out Samsungs flagship set.

Sony have had bad quality/value ratio since the Trinitron days.

20 years ago, if you wanted quality, you had to pay for it by buying Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer etc....

At about that time is when Samsung and LG changed strategy and slowly turned themselves from bargain bin TVs (LG used to be laughably called Lucky Goldatar.... whatever the fuk that mean), into the behemoths they are now, which are companies that make upper tier consumer electronic at mid-tier prices.

That's the key to making money in the modern age of electronics. Unless you are Apple or BOSE, most people don't want to pay upper prices. That's why Pioneer quit and Panasonic hardly makes TVs anymore. They tried the high quality/high prices approach and got killed. Sony tried the mid quality/high price tier and it killed them for 10 years. Now, notice how Sony electronics don't have the premium price like the old days. Still a premium, but not like the Trinitron days.

That low end tier seems to hang around, but I don't see how all those companies can be making big money selling junky stuff at $500 or less. Then again, maybe the products have such low costs it actually works out to slim profits.

I'm sure the low end sets aren't equal.

You are way off.

If you have to get an LCD I would get an LG. They are easy on the wallet and reliable. I bought my daughter a vizio LCD a few years ago and of course it stopped powering on not even 2 years later. The LG is still working and has a decent picture for an LED TV.

I stupidly spent $6000 on a tv 7years ago. And ended up having to get my panel replaced twice by Samsung (and had to threaten to legal action for them to do it for free).

Honestly, the amount of 1080p content that was available at the time, I feel like I threw that money away. (It really isn't that abundant in regards to free-tv)

To do something like that again, seems idiotic to me. I love that y'all are passionate about dims and IMS or whatever, but the content isn't really there to support it.

Early investors pave the way for us plebs though.

The most I've ever spent was $2500 and it lasted me a whole 3 years...immediately after the extended warranty ran out. The last 2 TVs I've only spent right at $700 each on. I won't spend more than $1000 on a TV ever again.

A edge lit LG?

For anyone that is hesitant to buy an expensive TV this year, it looks like a Samsung 28 inch freesync 4K monitor with 1ms response time is now 299. Won't offer the same effect as a huge HDR TV however it could bridge the gap and you can get other uses from a monitor long term. Having freesync and 1ms response time could be an advantage in shooters since the X takes advantage of freesync. Personally I plan on having both a 4K monitor and TV so this sounds like a nice option for online shooters.

Does this Monitor support Free Sync thru HDMI?

So I decided with the xbox one x coming out in a few months that I would buy a new 4k TV, I am looking in the 40" range and within my price point I found these TV's:

Sony 43" (XBR43X800E)
LG
(43UJ6300)
Sony 43" (KD43X720E)
Sharp (LC43N7000U)
Samsung
(UN40MU6300)
Sharp (LC43N7002U)
Samsung(UN40KU6290)
Samsung 43" (UN43MU6300FXZC)

Samsung 40" (UN40MU7000FXZC)
Panasonic (TC43EX600)

Anyone got any opinions on them?
The Panasonic seems solid or this.Amazon product

If you can go up to 50 inches...

I just took a chance on the TCL 55 inch P series. For 600 bucks I couldn't be more impressed. The input lag is the main reason I bought it, but everything I have tried looks great on it.

I'm still on the fence I've basically narrowed it down to 3 different sets, Vizio M series 2017 50" or 55" or the Samsung mu6300 50" pretty sure I am going vizio, although I'm not sure on the brand of the TV I'll probably buy it from Costco as their warranty is stellar
