WWE 2K18

There is a ridiculous quality disparity going on. Some characters look almost real, while others look decidedly lower poly. The game desperately needs better collision tech. They should be adopting features similar to the UFC games, IMO.

Yeah, when you watch the match between Strowman and Lesnar and you see Brauns face while playing he looks great while some of the other models look inferior. Collision detection has been an issue for a while, one thing UFC has going for it is they only have 2 characters and a ref to worry about. WWE 2K now allows 8 in the ring at once (and I think the ref too) and they have to worry about all kinds of hits coming from different places etc. Not sure how much of a difference that makes in the grand scheme of things but I'd love to see the hit detection as well as clipping eliminated some day.

Eh, plenty of sports games like Madden and Fifa manage it with a number of players on screen while looking great. I do agree that they will have more cycles in UFC, but Man, having all the muscle flex and deformation would be amazing. I wouldn't mind a Gran Tourismo/Drive Club situation where they have higher fidelity models for one on one matches. There should definitely be some kind of LOD tech. It's a slow-paced game, so it should be possible.

I don't think I could play something that looks that dated.

If it were fun I think I could play it but I don't like that it says you have to start off with small moves first, wrestling isn't a sport and the games shouldn't be sims IMO.

Why do these kinds of bugs make it in every year? TJP or Superman? lol

During gameplay the graphics in this version are much improved over previous versions of the game, they still need to fix issues that have plagued this series for years though. I don't mind the animations when a move is being performed those are good enough but the basic walking animations, turning around etc are all so stiff and robotic still. When will they ever fix that animation on the top of the HIAC when the player doesn't land in just the right spot? they always slide and fall and it's so stupid, just make it one big square like it was in the old games if that's what it takes. Falling from on top of high objects looks bad too, they always slow down when they reach the level of the edge and then fall too slowly, this kind of stuff can't be that hard to fix can it? I doubt they get the same resources the NBA team does but still.

In that video with Strowman vs Big Show I pushed L1 at least 6 times before it registered to open that door, that kind of thing shouldn't be happening, same thing when trying to pick up some objects.

Shouldn't be allowed to release a game that runs this poorly...
