It’s a great time to be an Xbox gamer! Hot on the heels of our record breaking E3 briefing, and the amazing reaction we’ve had from our fans, we’re excited to let you know that Xbox will be coming to gamescom in Cologne, Germany this August. We’ll be bringing a great line up of games from developers around the world that we can’t wait for gamers in Europe to get their hands on.

Here’s a quick overview of what we’ll be getting up to at the show this year:

Inside Xbox

This year at gamescom, we will be hosting a special episode of Inside Xbox, broadcast live from our Xbox booth in the Koelnmesse. Tune in on Tuesday, August 21, at 4:30 p.m. CEST (7:30 a.m. PDT) for lots of news, new Xbox One Bundles and accessories, and features on upcoming titles that we can’t wait to tell you more about and perhaps even a few surprises!

You can catch the show on xbox.com, Mixer, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2018

Xbox FanFest will return to gamescom once again this year, this year on the Rhein River! FanFest will happen for one incredible night on Thursday, August 23. More information on tickets and all the special activities happening on this day will be revealed very soon. Be sure to track #XboxFanFest for all updates.

Xbox Booth

The Xbox booth will feature a fantastic line up of 25 games across a diverse range of genres – we’ll be making sure everyone has a way to play and have fun! If you’re coming to the show, do make sure you pay us a visit – we’re in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse (North entrance).

This is the first time that European gamers will have the chance to jump in and try out many of our newest gameplay experiences including the open world freedom of driving through stunning beautiful historic Britain in Forza Horizon 4 or embarking on a journey to unravel Ori’s true destiny in this emotionally engaging, hand-crafted, story-driven adventure in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Gamers will also have the opportunity to get the first ever hands-on with State of Decay 2’s Daybreak Pack, an all-new mode set to release in September.

And you won’t want to miss the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds experience, featuring a new mode for Xbox One, playable for the first time at gamescom – and only in the Xbox booth.

Mixer Booth

Microsoft’s livestreaming service Mixer will also be at gamescom, located right next to the Xbox booth in Hall 8, where they will be bringing back the always popular HypeZone LIVE experience! Attendees will have the chance to earn victory in battle royale matches and even walk away with big prizes, while everyone at home can watch the turmoil unfold. Get a head start on the competition by watching some HypeZone action on Mixer.com now.

Hopefully Elite Controller 2.0 is finally getting unveiled there.

I'm kind of curious as to what hardware they could possibly be announcing...

Updated the thread title to reflect the change from "all new hardware" to "new Xbox One bundles" because Major Nelson changed it on his site.

No new hardware announcements then, they probably meant to type all-new Hardware Bundles but derped it up.

What to expect at Gamescom 2018
Where and when to hear the latest video game news from Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony and more.

Europe's biggest games conference, Gamescom, will officially kick off on August 21. Held in Cologne, Germany, the show will see the biggest names in the industry coming together to flaunt their wares, including Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and developers including Bethesda, Ubisoft, Activision and more.
Gamescom tends to play second fiddle to E3, the mega gaming event that takes place each June in LA. It's at E3 that companies tend to first announce exciting new titles, but at Gamescom we hope to dig a little deeper into those games and have more opportunities to actually play them.
Here's what you need to know about Gamescom 2018, and what gaming titles we're most excited to check out. Check back, as we'll be updating this article with more information as it arrives.

Shara Tibken/CNETWhere and when is Gamescom 2018?
The show takes place August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany. It's a pretty city, famous for a delightful beer called Kolsch that's served in small glasses. As a result, I tend to order them two at a time.
While the opening day is set aside for trade and press (it gives us journalists more space to roam the halls), public tickets are available for the remaining days. If you're interested in attending, day tickets cost 15.50 euros in advance or 18.50 euros on the day.

Gamescom 2018 press conferences?
Actual press conferences are a little thin on the ground this year, as most companies made their big announcements back at E3. Still, there are some notable times to be aware of.

Nvidia GeForce Gaming Celebration
Monday 20 August at 5:30 p.m. CET (5:30 p.m. UK time, 12:30 p.m. ET, 9:30 a.m. PT)

"The event will be loaded with new, exclusive, hands-on demos of the hottest upcoming games, stage presentations from the world's biggest games developers, and some spectacular surprises!" says the official invite from Nvidia. The "spectacular surprises" may well relate to the rumoured upcoming GTX1180 graphics card.

Microsoft online launch
Tuesday 21 August at 4:30 p.m. CET (4:30 p.m. UK time, 11:30 a.m. ET, 8:30 a.m. PT)

Rather than host a physical conference at Gamescom, Microsoft is instead streaming an announcement in the form of a special episode of "Inside Xbox" on Xbox.com, Mixer, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Microsoft hasn't said exactly what it's going to be showing off, but don't cross your fingers for a new Xbox.
Bethesda, EA, Sony and Ubisoft have all so far confirmed that there will be no official press conference at Gamescom this year.

NvidiaLeaks and predictions?
The big prediction so far is Nvidia's GTX 1180 graphics card, which, based on the numbers, will sit right at the top of its lineup and therefore promise a big boost in gaming performance to anyone with enough cash to shove one -- or more -- of them inside a PC case.
While we don't know for sure when it'll show its face, we can expect a host of related developers talking about how their new and upcoming titles will look even better on this new hardware, making Nvidia one of the bigger companies to keep an eye on this year.
We're not expecting any other big surprises at the show this year, but instead we're hoping to dig a little deeper into some of the titles we saw at E3.

Dont waste your time because the last one was a joke and talk about what was at E3.

This will be no different.

CD 3 will be there, but I hope it’s more than the same crappy trailer we got at E3.
