Xbox One Event Impressions: Dublin Edition!

Thanks for taking the time to give those well structured impressions! Makes waiting another week even tougher though I do have this other new console that should tide me over. ;)
 
Nice impressions. I went to the Xbox One tour here in Chicago and I agree with you, Dead Rising was a lot of fun to play and Ryse was just OK. Hack and slash fans might enjoy Ryse but it seemed repetitive to me. Battlefield was good but like you mentioned MP graphics were a small improvement over current gen. I'm still torn whether to play BF4 on PS4 or Xbox one.

I think Xbox One will be a very solid experience all around. Live is a great service as we know, UI looks great, solid controller. The games are somewhat lacking but it's the same thing on PS4 at this point.

After playing the PS4 in my home, using the UI, online store, the hardware. PS4 is slightly behind XBO in some aspects and seems a little less refined overall than the Xbox One. Still, we're very lucky to have these two systems coming out at the same time.

Most people will be pretty pleased with either console as long as they're open minded.

I won't comment on Forza too much as I don't like racing games and I only played it for 5 mins. Also, jaggies aren't a thing that concerns me unless it's something that is very bad.
K I looked stellar. Did it look as good as Forza? Well that depends on your context. KI is easily the best looking side scroll fighter I've seen in years.

There was no dashboard demo available. Every console there was running some Dev or beta build. The actual console is not as big as it seems. It's about the size of a modern Xbox 360. Yes, I think it will deliver.

A small improvement is weird...and it sure ain't what i saw in the PS4 MP videos. That looked a ton better than any 360 and PS3 footage of the MP. It looks very crisp, very smooth and just reallly good in those PS4 videos. Resolution difference aside...i expect it to be on par with PS4.

Im confused about your bf4 graphic impressions. Everyone else says it looks fantastic, and it looked fantastic during the showdown. I wonder just how old the build you played was...

I can only go on what I saw. As I said I have no idea what build it was but I'm sure it wasn't a retail one based of the way the console dashboard was set up and the fact only there was on options in the menu to do anything other than play that one map.
 
anything about FIFAs graphics? It sounds tempting but so do 14 after the demo and then EA 'patched' it back to 13 gameplay and it went downhill overnight.

Also, I was informed today that the dev-team at Dice whose job is porting game is making a patch is to increase the X1 resolution to 900p. The patch will be available in around mid december. All of this is because MS updated the OS on the devkits that allow us to extract more power out of the console. This will also stable the dropping framerate as well.

Great impressions DVANT! I'm still crossiong my fingers I can get an X1 by just strolling into a store and seeing one as I didn't preorder. lol.

With the lousy CoD Ghost reviews, I'm going to get BF4 this time.

I thought Fifa looked very good. Very sharp with a lot of detail on the players. The loads of extra animations really add to it. Also, I know this particular game was a retail copy. A quick look at the dash board showed it to be an 8 gig install, which is what the retail one is.
