Opening this up as getting the genuine feels that info is incoming on this...the landing page on the Microsoft has had a update in the last few days....

Can we please keep this on topic and post tweets etc some of us may miss in other threads on any pre order news in whatever part of this big ball of dirt we all live on :) :bang:

Could the reason behind what the FCC has yet to give it its blessing is due to MS still finalizing dev kits?

I've seen someone posting a tweet where Mike Yabara, may have spelled his name wrong, posted that devs are yet to receive final hardware kits with the newest optimization n other goodies...

Gamestop was taking notification orders- where they call you as soon as it comes available. I was already number twenty. It's not a pre-order, but at least they let you know when you can come do it

GAME in the UK have been running this strange registration system for the last month. I have a feeling that GAME expects not to get the majority of stock allowance.

As with everywhere else, Amazon, TESCO, online or bricks and mortar in the UK....no one is giving pre-orders against a guarateed stock placement.

I have a feeling that not many of these will be available this year. My theory on 500 price tag is they won't be able to have enough stock at that price. The X will drop to 400 once yields are good and they can stock up in 2018.

That's why I'm a little reluctant on buying it day one. I have a feeling come Black Friday or during December there'll be a fifty dollar price drop and other promotions/bundles.

*edit - corrected month

QFT but the spoiled little brat inside has to have it in my case...

Are there any rumors floating around about when they expect to start pre-orders? It's a month since the reveal.

I'm hearing that after Gamescon the pre orders are open.

However I am in Mexico from 25/07 to 10/08 and I will guarantee it happens then and I miss out on the initial rollout

Exactly. Those deals are the wild card and they seem to always do something; whether it is a quick price discount, awesome pack-in deals, or announce a different colored SKU. They did all three of those things with Xbox One S at launch and shortly after.

I'm wondering if there will be any available Black Friday. I have a theory that Microsoft will keep production low this holiday because yields are always bad at launch and they're expecting to move more S's. Stock shortages drive perception that something is in high demand. Keeps working for Nintendo.

I think it'll be $400 by summer of 2018.

On a side note, I bought the Pro for $360 a month after launch on Amazon.

I think it's a tough to announce a new console 18 months out and intentionally have stock shortages on the shelf. Speaking for myself, I will be pretty pissed if I can't find one rather easily.

I'll probably just preorder from the MS store again like I did with the Day One.

Im really hoping everyone stocks the same version, I got the S through Dell and their batch had the ticking fans, went through a couple returns and resigned to it after seeing online its just a superficial noise and nothing to worry about. MS store ones had the good fans that are silent, but I ordered the Battlefield 1 s from them, and wasnt going to get it until weeks after release so canceled and went with Dell.

It's probably just that the final hardware for retail units isn't ready to go for submission, final dev kits don't hold this kind of thing back. We usually see consoles at E3 and pre orders generally start that day but the dev kits are never final until much closer to launch. This console was announced in a bit of a strange way being that they announced it a year and a half in advance of it being available so the timing may seem off to some people but I don't doubt by the end of summer we'll be able to pre-order.

So should we expect that retailers will be having midnight pickups? I haven't done that since Xbox 360 launch...and I felt old standing in line back then. Lol

I wonder if it has to do with that Hovis (?) Method where each machine has an individual tune. It might make it harder to certify or something...

The Pro wasn't announced officially until September and then went up for pre-order, had it been announced at E3 they probably wouldn't have been able to take orders yet either. It could just be the timing for the parts coming from AMD, not sure why it's not up yet but I'm sure it's nothing big.

It's taking longer than expected to scratch out "Jaguar" and etch in "Custom x86 CPU" on the APU.

It is a jaguar we are not going back to this again and anyone bitching at me about talking CPU just remember there are two sides to a convo and I wasn't the one who brought it up. Who said it's taking longer than expected? the internals may not be ready for approval yet or any number of other things. The Pro wasn't available for pre order until September, that was basically last year's equivalent of what the One X is this year, no problem here at all really other than people being impatient and to a lesser extent MS announcing the thing so early just to try to keep people from buying a pro.
