It's taking longer than expected to scratch out "Jaguar" and etch in "Custom x86 CPU" on the APU.
THIS is a Jaguar...

Not worried about a pre-order but i'm not getting an Xbox One X at launch. Going to wait and see if Phil's investments pay off and some games i want come to fruition. Can't imagine it selling out at launch though, so i think you guys should be okay.

I am thinking Amazon right now, but I have never ordered from the Microsoft Store. I might have to try their store.

My only gripe with the official MS store was that when I bought my launch X1 that they had taken the credit card I used and put it on my Live account. For security reasons I wasn't crazy about that (they've since turned on 2 factor auth so it isn't a big deal). Calling them to remove the card from the account was a bit of a pain.

My launch X1 didn't show up until almost 8pm either, but that could have just been whatever.

Well, I don't like EITHER of those decisions MS made with your purchase :(

Yeah the credit card thing really bothered me because I prefer to use point cards. I don't like my credit card to be available to anyone who cracks my password. I think now that 2 factor auth can be turned in I might have just left it on there. You hear of all the accounts getting stolen though and it is obviously scary. I'll take the extra step to buy points cards off Amazon.

The shipping thing could have just been UPS. I get a lot of late deliveries. Not quite that late, but late.

Amazon has f***ed up royally on major releases since before the Xbox One. They're not getting my pre-order. Messed up my Xbox One, PSVR, friends, Switch and Zelda special edition. Countless others as well.

You know, I don't remember if I could specify which card I wanted to use when I preordered the Day One edition or not, but now that you mention that I think I remember some screwiness on my end too. (I think it was because I thought it was my points credit card and it was actually my debit/checking card that I use primarily for Bills 'n' stuff that Live was tied to then). I don't know what time it was delivered for me, though. There is a MS store in town, admittedly about a 45 minute drive. I may have to see if I can preorder it for pickup there, especially if they're doing a midnight pickup, since that'll help me avoid the freaking traffic (which turned my normal ~45-55 minute drive into work in yet another part of town into a ballsplintering 90 minutes).

Other than MS or Amazon, I'm pretty much stuck to either Best Buy or Gamestop (ich). The credit card thing isn't nearly as big a deal now, and not sure if their policies have changed. It did kind of cheese my off at the time though.

No doubt MS's pre-order delay is due to something big happening. Probably deciding on free digital game codes. There's something free coming.

If not, MS would have released the standard "one console + one controller" pre-order package at E3.

I'm still undecided on whether or not I want a Day One, or to hold out for a possible nice Black Friday Bundle. And now I'm stressed.
I'd always err on the side of actually getting a console and not regretting it. This is a new console that may be in short supply so doubt there will be BF deals on it...likely just forced bundles. For me, my preference is to go into a store to preorder and I can only hope that sh*t ain't sold out before I get there. They need to give us a heads up on time this is going to hit and not slip it in.

Getting it day one and the UK doesn't really do BF.

Shall most likely go with Shopto but it's been years since I've used them
