Xbox One X

I have decided I am buying an X1X, my nerdy impulsive side won out over my logical side lol but I do have a question for those of you who currently own Xbox consoles, do you still have to double tap the center xbox button to capture screens?

VaLLiancE care to give us your unbiased opinion :)
My opinion is google xbox one s ultra hd bluray player stuttering, performance issues and go into the bluray forums and avsforum and read how it compares to everyother player(hint its at the bottom)
I am a shopper and was close to buying it last year so I did the above and passed.
That site awarded it due to VALUE and no one can argue value BUT you get what you pay 4.
For $500 some want a all in one that excels in every area. Look at my sig I don't need it for the game ability.
I just want good UHDBR performance and Dolby Vision support if I spend that money.

Let me make it clear.... to those who don't currently own a xbo s or own a PS4 and not a UHDBR player X is a tremendous buy.

I could find the quotes, but I'm too lazy. He literally said he was going to get an Xbox One S. Then he said he wasn't going to get it because it did not have Dolby Atmos sound. That was added in an update, and this was mysteriously never brought up again.

It's not hard to see a pattern here. He now says that he's not that interested in Xbox One X because there is no Dolby Vision HDR (which is on a very small amount of actual, available disc content) It's also highly possible that Xbox One will get a DV update in the future (that's my own belief, given comments I've read). My crystal ball says that he will be absent again, when this happens.
Last year I had a issue with Atmos true and it was a issue they later resolved true.
I came across other issues when researching and decided to wait on Scorpio.

I'll just drop a little bit of info here about the 4K Blu ray player in Xbox one S(X1X). Don't feel like you're not getting a good device because of naysayers, this is a really solid device and superior to anything on the console front.

Xbox One S is worth buying over a dedicated player. It's capable, compact and comparatively fast. And until those other players go down in price, it's by far the best value in 4K Blu-ray playback.

VS ps4 pro
The Xbox One S is the better-equipped media player.

Nearly flawless as an Ultra HD Blu-ray player (in terms of video quality, that is)

But the real worth is the ability to play UHD Blu-rays. This is the most affordable 4K Blu-ray player on the market, and it’s a competent performer to boot. If you own a 4K TV and you want your movies and games looking their best, the Xbox One S is a no-brainer.
Microsoft faces competition from Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro. While the Sony offers 4K and HDR in gaming, it doesn't play UHD Blu-rays. That's a major omission in my book, leaving an open goal for the Xbox One S.

I think it is a very decent UHD Blu-ray player and it gives Xbox One S an advantage over PS4.

And if you own a television capable of 4K and HDR video, it may be hard NOT to buy an Xbox One S even if you already own the previous gen box.

I've read some of it. This lazy mofo wants a direct link to that 75" under $2000 4k ultra everything tv
Buy what's INSIDE rather than brand is my suggestion...
Hisense(owns Sharp) has decent spec Full Array sets (some come with free 4 year warranties)
TCL I am not real familiar with but they have decent spec Full Array 4K sets
Vizio cost more than the above but its P and M series are comparable to the above.

Cool that sounds better, last I read you had to double tap it and that seemed like it'd be hard to get a good action shot that way. Thanks.

X1X is supposed to allow you to scrub DVR recordings, allowing you to search for the shot you want.

I have to reiterate again...After doing homework on games since E3, I'm really excited about the state of the Indies. This is a great sign for the gaming industry going forward. PUBG has already sold 4 million on PC in it's preview/beta stage. Only a few years ago, there wasn't too many Indies that visually could hold up well enough to gain mainstream attention. It's changing. Between both Xbox and PlayStation, my Indies list is longer than my AAA list. Anthem is really the only AAA shown at E3 that I want more than PUBG, State of Decay 2, Ashen, Cuphead, and Ori 2.

I mention this because maybe there is something to be said for this strategy from Spencer and Xbox. Find the next interesting gameplay concepts and make them bigger with the sequels. Despite putting lots of money into Ryse, SSOD, Quantum Break, it was Ori and State of Decay that did well enough commercially to deserve sequels. PUBG could turn out to sell more than any shooter not named COD over the next two years. Friday the 13th ended up selling much more than expected despite being a broken mess thanks to streamers. ...and maybe those Streamers on Mixer and Twitch are what's making it possible for small games to get the exposure they need.

It will be really interesting to see how these Indies do commercially this year because I think the mainstream might be ready for another shift.

Only Xbox One X will download 4K assets for available games

XBOX ONE AND XBOX ONE S WILL DOWNLOAD 1080P.
Xbox One X consoles will be the only ones in the Xbox One family to download 4K assets for compatible games, Microsoft has today confirmed with Stevivor.

Using the estimated 100GB download of the 4K-compatible Forza Motorsport 7 as a guide, Stevivor asked Microsoft how an Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X would each handle the download.

“With the launch of Xbox One X, when it comes to game content our intention is to download the correct assets to the correct console,” a Microsoft representative told Stevivor, steering away from Forza 7 specifically.

Assets are tied to your console and not the TV it’s connected to, Microsoft stressed.

“This means, regardless of the TV you are playing on, 4K assets will be downloaded to Xbox One X (if available) and the standard 1080p assets will be downloaded to an Xbox One S.”

“This means, regardless of the TV you are playing on, 4K assets will be downloaded to Xbox One X (if available) and the standard 1080p assets will be downloaded to an Xbox One S.”

It’s important to note that while an Xbox One S can output games in 4K, it upscales from their 1080p source. The Xbox One S can also output using HDR, but that doesn’t appear to impact download sizes between it and the original Xbox One.

Moreover, Microsoft advised it will give “developers tools to make downloads more efficient” on both Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

“As part our developer readiness for Xbox One X, we have made available a feature which will give them significant flexibility when it comes to what gets installed on a user’s console,” the Microsoft representative continued. “In addition to 4K specific assets, developers have options when it comes to language specific assets as well, which depending on the title, can drastically reduce the install footprint. This ability to intelligently install the best assets for each console and language are available on all Xbox One devices, and it will be up to the developer of the game to determine the specific implementation.”

Microsoft promised to share more “on additional features… for end users” in the coming months.

We’ve asked Microsoft if Windows PC downloads are being addressed in a similar fashion — specifically, if PCs that cannot output in 4K will download 4K content. We’ll update this story when Microsoft replies.

Im sure Microsoft sleeps so well knowing some of you guys are so concerned about their billion dollar companies.

A certain few come here and feel the need to only throw negativity. Obviously everyone is allowed to have an opinion but trying to beat it into people hoping to change minds is kinda sad and creepy.
Egg, you speak with a wisdom not often heard during the battles of the console war.

Any word on whether the Xbox One X will support Dolby Vision HDR? Currently, only Oppo players support it but I guess LG and Sony will follow suit with their new players, leaving Samsung as the only major brand that still doesn't want to support Dolby Vision.

My opinion is google xbox one s ultra hd bluray player stuttering, performance issues and go into the bluray forums and avsforum.

I just did, again. This time I combed through all the Xbox one S pages going back to January

Report:
6 reports on stuttering or audio issues

This was combing through 9 pages of discussion, 220 posts, and most of the issues were back before the updates. I learned a lot actually about why.

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=278780&page=59

So I'm really, really interested in seeing all these complaints since the updates that resolved many issues for Xbox one S. Got anywhere else for me for me dive in Val? Working on AVS now.

Since we're essentially getting the same UHD player in x1x this is relevant for those still on the OG xbox one

http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/1...sole-and-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-player-what-else

Picture quality with 4K Blu-rays is excellent and easily on a par with other dedicated UHD machines we've seen in the past.

I'm also combing through AVS now, nowhere near what I was expecting, mostly impressed since the updates. Will have a full report later.
