Xbox One X

No but considering the game dropped as low as the 800’s in resolution, getting 4K consistently at 60fps for a 2015 game is pretty nice.

Halo 5 on the X isn't native 4K. Dynamic Res scaling still in place.

I’ve been playing Halo 5 again in 4K and it looks great. I know the game rarely touched 1080 on base so it’s been quite the upgrade.

Yep, it blows my mind almost every time I play it. Such a fantastic upgrade.

I don't think I played the regular Xbox One version of Gears 4, I only played PC and One X, it was that bad eh?
It looked great on my one s, playing at on my scorpio in 4k with hdr and I'm honestly not seeing this being that impressive in relation to vanilla version tbh. More impressed with titanfall 2 and halo 5.

Same here.

Yeah, basically looks more high def (of course) and the hdr do make games look more punchy, but otherwise my mind didn't implode.
Just played rb6 siege and that really was eye opening to how blurry vanilla version really is.

Yea never mind the addition of dynamic shadows that was totally missing in the regular Xbox One version.

Either way, neither of those games are graphically impressive IMHO.

Halo 5 looks fairly simple, it's really not all that impressive visually but being that they were going for a 60fps experience on a 1.3TF base machine there was no way it was going to really shine graphically when compared to other titles that run at 30fps and are allowed to push the visuals more. Halo should have kept the single player 30fps IMO, the older games felt fine.

On the One X Gears is the more impressive game IMO, it just looks better all around.

i love when people say the difference isnt much watching a youtube video on their phone or tablet lol (not saying thats the case with people here)

another great line is "if you have to zoom in to see difference its not really important"... no, the reason they zoom in is cause thats the only way you gonna see the diffeence in a compressed to hell youtube video

i can tell a clear difference just from 1440p to 4k

I consider gow4 a better looking game than halo 5, I do not consider it a more pronounced upgrade from vanilla to enhanced version though. And I'm not going by the YouTube videos, I have the games on my day one xbox one, my one s and my scorpio.

It was fine. Wasn't amazing looking or anything but not bad. The biggest upgrade for me is the 60fps in the campaign. Game is so much smoother now.

They do feel better at 60fps though.

I think it feels much better at 60 FPS, but I guess that’s just me.

Better but it has an impact on visuals and to me the tradeoff wasn't worth it, especially when it already felt good at 30fps. You can see where the environmental artists probably had a good plan but it couldn't be executed. I also can't stand how the enemies cut down to stop motion animation so close to the camera, it's really distracting.

Nothing wrong with liking one more than the other, I just don't remember anyone complaining about it being 30fps in the past. I can see doing MP at 60fps but single player should pop more visually than this game does IMO especially when it's the platforms biggest franchise.

Wouldn't have had a problem with 30fps, destiny feels great and so do older halos, wouldn't sacrifice 60fps for just a res bump though.
The downgraded fps on enemies further away was very distracting and might've been better to keep whole game at 30fps too even that out.... maybe.

I'm guessing you'd get a lot more than a res bump going back to 30fps.
