Some people will complain, but for me it's a step in the right direction. I get multiple friend requests every day from account scammers/phisers. People who frequent trading sites can get dozens a day, racking up to over a hundred if they don't use Steam for a few days. It's gotten out of hand, it's a good move from Valve IMO.
 
I'm fine with this.

Now I shouldn't have to deal with getting random friend invites from bots anymore.
 
I approve of this. Now trolls will have to "pay to play" the game of trolling.
 
Just one step closer to an annual fee like XBL/PSN+.
 
I was worried when I read the title, but then found out you just have to buy a game for five bucks.

Hell, anyone using steam should probably do that anyway. Otherwise, what's the point of even having it? I got steam to play games.
