It’s forever changed the way people consume video, which is precisely why we couldn’t be happier to announce that a dedicated YouTube app is officially coming to Xbox One.
We know how much you love having millions of videos available to watch instantly from your Xbox 360, PC or mobile device, so we’ve been hard at work ensuring you’ll be able to view the same great content from the comfort of your living room thanks to the YouTube app on Xbox One.
Best of all, the power of the Xbox One allows you to enjoy the same great YouTube experience you’ve already come to know and love. You’ll be able to stream videos in all of their 1080p glory (Slip and Slide LAUNCH RAMP anyone?), catch the latest videos from your subscriptions like Polaris, or see trending videos from a wide range of categories including Gaming.
The YouTube app for Xbox One also makes it easier to find and watch whatever you want, as well as interact with it in new and exciting ways:
•Voice - Control the app just by saying "YouTube" wherever you are in the app. Commands like play, pause and fast forward will instantly pop up on screen.
•Gesture - Grab the screen to scroll through videos and use your hand to pick which one you want to watch.
•Subscriptions – Stay up-to-date with all of your favorite channels so you don’t miss a second of the action.
Of course, the YouTube and Xbox One teams are never ones to rest on their laurels (or rest at all, really), so we’re striving to add even greater functionality in the coming months, like Snap mode.
Finally, we’re happy to announce that YouTube will be coming to Xbox One on Nov. 22. It will be available in all launch markets where Xbox One and YouTube are available, except for Austria, Ireland, and New Zealand, but they’ll be available in the coming days.
