Zenimax Media files trademark for 'Nuka Cola'
Bethesda Softworks parent company Zenimax Media recently filed three separate trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term "Nuka Cola," a phrase that should be very familiar to Fallout fans.

Not just the favorite carbonated beverage of the post-apocalypse, Nuka Cola is also a handy energy source, and wily vault dwellers have even been known to craft the sugary goop into a deadly weapon. While it's currently unclear what Zenimax plans to do in the event the trademark is granted, it is notable that the applications were filed "based on intent to use," as opposed to "based on use in commerce," despite the fact that Nuka Cola appears frequently in both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. This suggests that instead of attempting to protect an existing product, Zenimax has new plans for the Nuka Cola name.

When contacted, Zenimax offered no further information, but we can be reasonably sure the media company is not planning to launch a line of Fallout-themed soft drinks. Two of the trademark applications apply specifically to computer games and related electronic services, while the third applies to branded clothing items. About a year ago, Zenimax renewed its trademark on the Fallout name, however, so it's possible this Nuka Cola trademark may tie in to any upcoming sequels Bethesda has planned for the roleplaying franchise.

Hmm. Wonder what they have planned. We're not going to hear any Fallout news until after ESO is out of the chute.

For the love of all that is sexy and good, announce the game already. Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 is all I need for my RPG fix.

Fallout 4 is going to be teased at E3. Im almost certain of it. Probably not coming till late 2015 though.

If there is any good left in the world Fallout 3 will be announced at E3 this year.

Bethesda Game Studios
only will make single player games.. hurrah for that

If an MMO would happen BGS will not be the ones making it

a fallout mmo would be terribad. I don't wanna wait for a friggen healer to complete our group to take on the uberdeathclaw. 11111121111131111123111111

It's a wasteland, not a place for 50 people to farm mole rats for their tails to give to the brotherhood scribe who needs them for a stew for the brotherhood ball.

No. I reject this premise.

Yeah, Fallout MMO would not work. The idea is about being a lone survivor. Ally's are rare and trust is almost nonexistent. An MMO is the total antithesis of the world of Fallout. It worked in the Elder Scrolls world, but not here, in my opinion.

If we can get a Fallout 4 announcement soon, that would be lovely.

Good point. But what about just 3 or 4 friends in there with you? Certainly there would be more than 1 person wandering around the wasteland, right?

Fallout MMO can GTFO. Now on the other hand if they want to throw in a co-op mode in Fallout 4 I would take that.

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics Re-Rated by ESRB; New Release Imminent?

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/04...actics-re-rated-by-esrb-new-release-imminent/

Following the settlement of the lawsuit between Bethesda and Interplay that awarded the full rights for the Fallout series to the house of The Elder Scrolls, GOG and Steam were forced to remove the classics Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Classics: Brotherhood of Steel from their catalogs, leaving fans wondering about what would happen of the earlier chapters of the beloved RPG series.

Something finally seems to be moving, as today the ESRB published a new rating (obviously a M) for all three games.

The fact that the three games have been re-rated means that Bethesda requested it, which indicate probable plans for a re-release of the three classics.

While for the moment there isn’t any further information on that possibility, it’s definitely good to see that things are finally moving in the right direction.
