Right. If you say so.... As you said, "we'll see." But I get the feeling you should prepare yourself to be wrong......again.
Pray tell...how am I wrong now, and how was I wrong in the past?
Pre-orders aren't doing as well as you think, and neither is widespread interest.
Also, you're on crack if you think most gamers pay attention to E3, conferences, or what's being said on forums.
For reference:
1. if you add up the youtube views of titanfall from IGN, Gamespot, etc....they make up less than 4 million views (not including all the small odd video uploaders that don't get much views. And we all know quite a few of those views are repeated views.
2. TF is out in 10 weeks, and preorders on amazon are not that high, as indicated by the how high up in the best sellers list it's at. Again, a cruddy pc game expansion coming out later is garnering more interest.
3. There has been no bragging from publisher about how great pre-orders are. In contrast, for other past games, they're has always been articles talking about how high pre-orders are for certain games and how well they expect it to do. TF? Nada.
4. It took CoD a few games out the gate to get to where it's out popularity wise.
5. Halo has a huge fanbase for a game that everyone knows about, has been pimped in games, tv shows, live action commercials, books, toys in retails stores, etc. TF.....nada.
Feel free to say I'm wrong. Feel free to say I'm always wrong. That doesn't make it true. THe expectation that a new IP with no sp is going to outsell Halo is a far fetched expectation. Not saying it can't happen, stranger things have happened....just saying, it's highly unlikely, and winning a few best in show awards from a conference that most don't even know exist means nothing to the mass population of casuals.
