BS stat coming up with 80%. Also I don't see why it's not possible when the PS3 and PS4 can do it and they both have use slot loading. MS is probably being cautious of the whole thing.
Annoying that Panello just keeps making these technically wrong statements.
As pointed out, slot loading drives can be vertical.
MS just needs to STFU or something.
No, they're saying they didn't build the drive to hold a disk securely in vertical, and the prevailing esthetic this gen for Microsoft is the set top DVR look.maybe it isn't the drive? maybe another device? the fan, the hdd?
I know, all of these should be ok as well.
Hell for all we know, it could be purely structural and they don't like things hanging, and prefer them to rest flat.
My HTCP, my Xbox 360 and my PS3 are all vertical in my home theater. I took out the shelves on one side of my TV stand.
Was hoping to fit the PS4 and XBO in that same spot, and move my PS3 to the bedroom but alas, I'll be somehow having to find room elslewhere for my XBO or re-ogranizing my HT.
Vertical works surprisingly well for space saving as you can choose how close things are to each other precisely, as opposed to using shelves, which take up their own space, and are locked into whatever option your furniture gives you.

Sounds like a classic case of OCD.
He's not saying slot loading trays can't be vertical, he said they used a slot loading tray and only designed it to be horizontal.

Sounds like a classic case of mis-using the term OCD
Look at the way the front of all 3 consoles (or whatever they are) line up perfectly... and the way that keyboard lines up perfectly with the edge of your table... and don't even get me started on those tribal masks!!! OCD, OCD, OCD. Denial only makes it worse
lol
The thing on the left is the Alienware X51, followed by the 360 in the middle, with the PS3 to the right.
Lol Barbie's controller.lol

I'm inclined to believe, since you live in Washington, and you have all that crap in such an incredibly nice looking living room, that you are filthy f***ing rich.

This is the 21st century version of "You know you're in a relationship when there's aHave one for PS3 too, it's on the charger stand thing on the side table.
now that is a setup folks, mine is coming soon!Sounds like a classic case of mis-using the term OCD I don't need therapy bro, just like to keep my shiz looking right.

looks Beautiful, but Verizon has new black boxes that look much nicer. That is a Fios cable box right?Sounds like a classic case of mis-using the term OCD I don't need therapy bro, just like to keep my shiz looking right.

He specifically used the word "because."
Yes, that will look much better. Regardless, you have a beautiful setup. Is that the sub under the table? No that's a Motorala DVR that Comcast also uses (among others.) Been waiting forever for their X1 system to come to Seattle, read about it around the time I really wanted to switch my DVR out and it's only just recently come to Seattle.
Getting one installed next Saturday + the separate cable box for the bedroom that I can share DVR stuff with.
It's a lot nicer looking.
You are twisting his words. He didn't say, it's vertical because it has a slot loading tray, he said they didn't design the slot loading tray they are using to be vertical. Not all slot loading trays are necessarily going to be support both horizontal and vertical.
we just didn't design the drive for vertical. Because it's a slot loading drive, we just didn't design it for both
