I think he's just looking at the side missions the wrong way, imo. They shouldn't be thought of as merely "fetch quests" in my mind, they're supposed to be about exploring, seeing new and different environments and making it through a gauntlet of challenging combat scenarios. And then the reward for making it through to the conclusion of each scenrio is a giant treasure chest of bonus loot you would not have found otherwise. That's all. It's just extra content, extra fun to have with the exploration and combat, to which you are rewarded if you succeed. But they are also rewarding and satisfying in and of themselves if you enjoy the core gameplay. I don't think of them as merely "fetch quests", although, I suppose if the extra gameplay and loot simply isn't enough of an incentive for him to embark on these side missions, then yeah, I guess he'd just consider them irrelevant and boring "fetch quests" then. But I mean, that's what the entire game is about, exploration and combat. Does that mean the entire game is merely a "fetch quest" to reach the final cinematic? lol, I dunno, just thinking out loud...
