I'm not commenting on this game specifically, but just trying to apply my newfound knowledge about framerates. If 30 and 60 are the best framerates, because they match how the human eye perceives, then wouldn't a slip below 60 be more significant than it appears, just based on the numerical difference between 60 and 52? It seems like a 52 framerate would be acceptable -- hey, it's nearly 60 -- but since it deviates from that "multiples of 30" thing that the human eye likes, it would be more significant than that, right? I hope I'm being clear.

The more surprising news that came out of this article was the fact the X1 is having trouble maintaining stable FPS on a 2D title.
Oh, and that MS consoles all have crushed blacks, losing fine shadow detail.
lol you think its the xb1's fault? The same hardware that did forza 5 at a locked 60fps? Since Child of Light is so much more visually straining than Forza 5, the tire physics and lighting system alone probably chew up more processing power than that entire 2d game. Nice try.
They could release Doom 1 on ps4 and it could have fps issues.... "OMG TEH PS4 is SOOO WEAK!"
It happens. Btw, weren't you defending 30fps for DC? Now 52fps is just crime since its on a MS machine huh? And thats a racer... were it matters. Its cool though, hail sony.
From the DF video, it seems the game is running at the target framerate literally 98% of the time. The game bounced off the 60 mark so seldomly and by only 2 or 3 fps with the lowest being 52 in the one-off worst case scenario. Dips can be noticeable, but these kinds of dips or stutters should be very brief and infrequent. Shouldn't be very noticeable if at all. If it was something like the dips in Tomb Raider for the PS4, then it may have been more understandable to consider dropping to 30fps, but not here. I think the OP greatly embellishing the X1 version being inferior.I'm not commenting on this game specifically, but just trying to apply my newfound knowledge about framerates. Yes, the same hardware with the following exclusives:
DR3 @ 720p/30
KI @ 720p/60
PVZ:GW @ 900p/60
Ryse @ 900/30
Titanfall @ 792p/60
Well, you tell me why X1 is struggling to maintain constant 60 on a 2D title. Even last - gen consoles are maintaining better FPS albeit at lower resolutions.
DC is @ 30 because of the visuals and as you seem to imply, Child of Light isn't that visually straining so why the drops on the X1?
It's not a crime, never said it was. You're just blowing it out of proportion like most defensive xbox fans do. I've already said it doesn't deter from gameplay much since it's not frequent drops but that's not enough to satisfy you, is it?
Post doesn't make sense. You don't understand development at all obviously or you wouldn't have posted this. A 2d game struggling with fps means nothing about the console when it can do a game like forza 5 at 1080p 60fps, its simply the developer, same as when a game like strider didn't look as good on ps4. Do you understand this simple logic? Or should I find a coloring book format to so you can visualize it?

Seems to get worse every year. Maybe even every day.
It does, it implies the X1 is just not as powerful as the 4. It's really simple when you take off the neon green goggles.
Of course, it may also be argued that Ubisoft didn't have enough time to optimize the X1 version but the same could be said for the 4 so that point is moot. Basically, you're saying the only reason X1 is performing worse than the 4 is because lazy devs. Well then, I guess the majority of the multiplatform devs are "lazy" and "incompetent" since they couldn't get the X1 version to be up to par with the 4's, so are Capcom, Respawn, Crytek etc. because they couldn't get DR3, TF, Ryse to be at 1080p/60 working just like Forza.
Please.
You still don't get my comparison, so heres the coloring book version, i don't know about DR3 and the others, but what I do know is child of light is easily able to hit your cherish ps4's numbers. Maybe not in other 3d games, but you using this game as an example is embarrassing, especially when other games with much more intense effects hit 60fps, even locked 60fps. Do you understand that, or do you wish to skate around it still?

You must have missed the portion where the X1 version is also supersampling then downscaling back to 1080p to produce a less aliasing IQ. Yes, it's hitting the same numbers but not sustaining the same performance. Easy enough for you to understand?
This isn't either console's final form but still, the truth of the matter is when all game assets are the same, PS4 version is almost always ahead of the X1's. Gee, I wonder why.
Ok? Why do you have such a hard on for the ps4 hitting higher numbers, it could have hit 200% higher performance in everything, means nothing. We all kow the ps4 is more powerful, but I mean ok, more powerful than what? Lets just compare 2012 PCs why don't we? They're both crap.

Uh... because you're the one trying to damage control the X1's performance by saying it's hitting the same numbers? Now you need to bring the PC in because your argument is failing? lol. That's my point: the PS4 is more powerful than the X1, I don't know why it's so hard to understand.
We all know PC's will always look the best. Why even talk about the obvious?
Where did I say it was hitting the same numbers? Btw PC is more powerful always, we know that, but this is also the weakest performing generation compared to PCs as well. I'm glad you like Child of Light and I'm glad your favorite console has such beast performance with it and I know you sleep well knowing it outperforms the mighty X1, congrats
Don't forget all for the same price

That's the question we're asking. Or as KB says, spinning.
I seriously doubt that hardware is the issue. (In this case) but it could be I suppose. But even still it runs 60 most of the time. Drops like what 8 frames?
