It certainly looks cool from a visual perspective. I'm not sure about the rest of it at this point.

It's stunning how accurate they nailed that cartoon style. Kudos to the team!

Really excited about this game. Read that it's not coming out in 2014 most likely, but I have a feeling I'll be getting it day 1 when it eventually does. Love the graphical style.

Looks awesome, and the side scrolling takes me back to NES/SNES days :) I just hope it plays well.

Regardless, I have to hand it to these guys for being innovative! Very, very cool.

Reminds me of an old Disney cartoon.
I actually thought about Kingdom Hearts when I first saw this game. It's been a long time for me so I can't remember the details, but there was at least one part in that game where you went into a place that had a similar graphical style.

I have to say Cuphead looks awesome. I love the art style at least. We'll see how good it actually is.

This game looks insane, but I hope the gameplay matches the aesthetics.

- It's basically a sidescrolling shooter boss battle game. Like Gunstar Heroes or Alien Soldier
- The dev is thinking about releasing episodic content. So part two will have more boss battle foes
- The game has unlimited lives. This is a potential game breaker because everyone will have the urge to just plow through the game. Not determined yet if a boss battle restarts itself when you die, or if it's the join-in-progress life spawn. Join-in-progress life spawns will make the challenge pointless. Hope they don't do that. Hoping they don't even have infinite lives

When I saw the trailer, I thought it was a canned promo piece. Didn't think it was the actual game.

And they sure did nail the style!

- Half faded colouring
- Creepy music
- Equally creepy animation and style
- Old school animation before all the gut wrenching Asian anime became popular
- And of course dust collecting film grain!

They really nailed the visuals on this game, hopefully the game play will be fun.

This was one of the games I wanted to see at E3. It wasn't there. Apparently the devs didn't send along a demo.

Sounds like its too early into development for that.

Definitely looking forward to playing it.

Xbox Console Exclusive Cuphead Details Runneth Over

More details on the Xbox console exclusive, Cuphead revealed:

The ID@Xbox initiative is proving to be one of the highlights of the Xbox One, as it has provided a wide range of games to help bolster the available library on the console. When an ID@Xbox montage was shown at E3, one of the games that immediately grabbed people's attention was Cuphead, largely thanks to its unique visual style. Since that time, Cuphead has received its ownannouncement trailer and a handful of screens were released as well.

At Gamescom, StudioMDHR, the team behind Cuphead, gave us some actual details about the game. The team has worked hard to recreate the feeling of the 30s-era stylings they're going for, included using hand-draw- and-inked cels for animation and the inclusion of an era-appropriate, recorded-live jazz soundtrack. They've also revealed that you can play as either Cuphead or Mugman in single-player or co-op. Several other features were detailed as well:

-Fast and challenging action, retro stylings with modern depth
-Huge, screen filling bosses
-A wide variety of wacky weapons, supers, and secrets
-Schmup levels sprinkled throughout to test your skill
-Irreverent and wacky sense of humor inspired by 30s cartoons
-Play as a guy with a cup for a head (or a mug)
-Simple enough to pick up and play, tuned for speed running
-Unique parry defense system

Cuphead is scheduled for a Spring or Summer 2015 release, and will cost $9.99 or regional equivalent.

So if you drink his milkshake are you essentially removing his brain?

Serious question.
Hopefully there's a level where birds are swooping down trying to drink your brain and you have to dodge them.

Cool game with that creepy early 1900s animation (those guys must have been on drugs).

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, make note it's a boss battle game where you face boss after boss (like Genesis' Alien Soldier), so it's not a traditional platforming game with a boss battle at the end of the level. There's supposed to be additional boss battle DLC later on.
