This is robocop.

Go watch the original again.

As I said earlier, the level of what is acceptable in ratings has changed dramatically since Robocop was first put out. PG-13 now is pretty much what R was in the 80's, 18A is left for movies with gross amounts of language and nudity and excessive blood/gore. Violence and some language is easily fit into PG-13 or 14A

Yup. I agreed. My wife and I can tell that the rating system is vastly different between 80s and right now.

Impact and exit wounds. That's how the ratings board decide on violence. You will see nothing like Murphy getting shot to death or ED209 blasting the exec in this movie. Likewise you won't see a half dissolved person get smashed by a van.

As I said, go back at watch the original again. People seem to forget how completely over the top it is.

Boo to you sir.
You disagree? I think it certainly began to decline in S3 and then completely jumped the shark S4. Also seemed like with its move from Thursday to Friday, also had its budget cut.

I thought the first 2 seasons were very good though and overall still a watchable series.

I enjoyed it throughout. Only thing I didn't like that much were the monster of the week type episodes. I much preferred the main storyline episodes.

Fantastic show. Shame we didn't get a full length season 5, but overall the show is very good. The characters are great. A lot of the cases are interesting
Show lost me when they skipped ahead to the weird future. Is it like that the entire Season?

It's like a completely different show.

You mean season 5 ? Yeah, like that all the way. It is a some what weird transition and an unfortunate consequence of a rushed ending to the show.

I love the show though. Think it is fantastic. Love how the overall feel of the show tends to mimic the character progression of the female lead, Olivia. One of those shows I wish could go on forever.

Oh I know, I loved the original, and I don't think the reboot will live up to it, just was saying that PG13 is a lot more lax than it used to be.

Yeah and I know the ratings are more relaxed now, but why the hell does this have to be pg 13? It's just disrespecting the original. I mean come on, it was never kids movies, why go that way now? What's next Starship Troopers where no limbs are shredded?

LOL. Well I am sure it will introduce a younger generation to the movie..those that don't want to reduce themselves to watching a SD version of an old ass movie lol

Well, the thing is, that old ass movie is a classic. And I'm not saying that cos I'm am old ass.

Actually, no, that's exactly why I'm saying that. :-)

I'm very meh on it at the moment. Nothing there has me super excited, but it could all change. Personally, I don't think it's that big a deal that it's PG-13, I'm sure the box office failure of Dredd helped out a little bit in the movies filming. Could still be good though. I just hope it doesn't take itself too seriously. That's the problems with so many remakes and films in general these days.

Falls off hard season 3. It's ugly.

I'm with you here. I loved the first two seasons but in seasons 3 things started getting silly. I ended up giving up on the show mid way through season 4 if I remember correctly. It all went to hell that season.

I loved it throughout, do think the last season was the weakest but liked how they wrapped it up at the end. Walter was my favorite character, just loved him!

I've had a hard time making it into theaters this year, missing out on lots of movies I'd been hoping to see. Purely from the great reactions the movie is getting, I want to see it. I have a feeling that seeing the vastness of space in a large theater will be much more distressing than seeing it on a 60" HDTV.

That's why I'm ponying up the extra cash to see it at my local IMAX. Should be quite a treat.

Starting the last season it just hit Netflix on XBox last week. Love this show one of my all time faves. Really feels like the spiritual successor to X-Files another one of my all time favorites.

I'd love another X-Files movie.

Always have sweet posters for this show. Havent watched any trailers or teasers for the new season but will watch, loved the first 2 seasons.

I read something a few weeks ago that i think it was Chris Carter hinting at trying to get a new movie in the works that takes place after the ending of the show.
