It's safe to say that the resurrection of Killer Instinct has been a huge success. One of the launch games for Xbox One, the action-packed fighter has proven extremely popular; it was recently featured as one of the main events of this month's massive Evo 2014 fighting game tournament.

The pain train is still running full steam ahead, too: Microsoft Studios and the development team at Iron Galaxy is releasing a special retail version of the game, “Killer Instinct: Combo Breaker Pack” starting September 23 for $19.99.
The pack comes loaded with the game all eight fighters from Season 1. That’s Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Sadira, Orchid, Spinal, and Fulgore – giving you plenty of choices for obliterating your opponents – PLUS a code for a bonus fighter from Season 2 – TJ Combo.
And that’s just a piece of the exciting news being announced in anticipation for when Killer Instinct: Season 2 hits Xbox One this later this year. So get those C-C-C-COMBO BREAKERS ready, people!

Get ready for February because it's about to get ugly!

The rules are simple:

Players must have 2 matches done. If you win 2 matches then you gain 3 points to the table. If you win 1 and the other beat you then your only rewarded with 1 and so as the other player.

Each match must be recorded with XBOX LIVE DVR feature for proof, so I must see 2 videos uploaded. So no video no points. If you win the one match and the other won his both player must upload their own winning matches.

Also Depending how many players are involved I can go with 1 group or 2.

If you do a no show then you have to have a rematch and if you don't show up on the second time then your out of the league. Don't worry I will figure something out because everyone time is different and most of us work or go to school.

Zcythe was our 2014 champion but that was than and this is now. Lot have change on this game and now with Season one going free in January I hope to see more people this time around.

We had lots of fun and now its going to get even better!

New rule Zcythe must create a shadow for whatever character he is going to use so I can practice.

I believe you can only create two shadows at a time, but I have shadows for Glacius and Hisako. Although, I will say, my shadows kind of suck. Feel free to play them though, especially my Glacius, as Shadow Ruffian is one of the last achievements I have left to get.

My main is Glacius, but I'm competent with Hisako, Aria, Aganos, Cinder, Jago, and to a lesser degree Shadow Jago. Also, if you're on and just want to play KI, feel free to send me a message or invite to play. I lurk a lot, so even if it says I'm offline, I might be on, especially in the evenings.

I've started playing as Cinder recently and enjoy him quite a bit. Both him and Sabrewulf I can beat hard AI now most of the time, although Aria still bodies me pretty good.

I have a stick... can't say I'm better one way or the other. Joystick movements I'd say I'm better with a stick but I find I'm able to mix up my attack strengths better with a pad. Anyways watching tournaments plenty top players use the controller.

Execution is only one facet of fighting games. There are plenty of other aspects of intermediate to high-level play that far more determine a match's outcome then execution, especially considering at the highest level most players are able to execute almost all the time. Timing, spacing, reads, pressure, and the neutral game are more often where the game is won or lost. These things become particularly important in KI when considering shadow counters, breakers, manuals, and individual move properties such as projectile invulnerability.

Remember, the man makes the weapon, the weapon doesn't make the man.

Grew up in arcades as well...

Mortal Kombat 1-3, Killer Instinct 1 and 2, Primal Rage, Time Killers, Soul Calibur series, Dead or Alive series, Virtua Fighter series, Battle Arena Toshinden 2, Marvel vs. Capcom, Street Fighter series, etc...

Wasn't the arcades, but worth mentioning is One Must Fall: 2097. I spent a lot of time playing that on PC and just wanted to mention it. :tounge:

One must fall was a great game. Didn't think too many people even knew about it.

Didn't play many fighters in arcades. Only arcade games I really spent time on would have been at the local bowling alley playing Area 51 and some police game.

Eyedol was pretty cheap but I bodied the unholy god out of him with Sabrewulf. Also cheap was on the rooftop stage the enemies attacking while the view was still rotating and before it even said fight lol
