The amount of comments I've read from people saying ''now I'll never ever need an xbox ever again'' and ''time to sell my xbox'' etc.

I hope this doesn't backfire on MS. It's either a brilliant move or it could potentially damage the xbox even further and alienate people.

To be honest 99% of the people who say that are full of crap and don't actually game on the PC at all. They just use it as a talking point in console wars. People who prefer to play on Consoles won't just jump to PC because "reasons" if that were the case it would have happened already and console software sales wouldn't be very high compared to those of PC.
Also Jack vs Strikers gameplay

oh look, another example of a gaming journalist not playing well. :( looks super cool and fun, but it's painful to watch someone who can't even check their six...

The gameplay looks fantastic. He is constantly having to move as he is pressured by the enemies. I can see this being really difficult on harder settings :)

Pre-order from anywhere?

Anyone who pre-orders the Xbox One digital version of Quantum Break through the Xbox Store, purchases an Xbox One digital token at participating retailers, or pre-orders an Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break bundle, will receive the Windows 10 version of the game downloadable at the Windows Store via redemption code

I'm just going to do my normal preorder from Xbox, that way they'll either just unlock the game on my account or send the code directly to my gamertag.

Their original idea was to do a remastered Alan Wake and give that away with the game IIRC, but this is a much cooler idea IMO. Maybe they'll save that remaster/port to come with an actual Alan Wake 2.

The game looks fantastic! I can't wait to play it. I love all the visual effects, like the rippling and fracturing that happens around them.

And there is this to consider (from a MS employee):

@XboxFloat: hey, when PC games get an extra development version in the process which is X1. Nobody will complain then. Bigger picture

So much crying for a great deal!

let's not forget you also get Alan Wake plus the DLC.

If you buy Quantum Break digital, which is the point i'm making. They're trying to force all digital on us like they tried to force DRM and 24 hour online check in. Anyone that doesn't see that is blind. I don't see the crying. I think it's a legitimate concern for anyone that's been with Xbox for 15 years. We want hardware, and we want physical games.

We don't want to play with PC gamers with a kb/m advantage who have hacks and rigs running shooters at 60fps while we're stuck on 30fps. Call me the CrapGamer of Union, i'll probably be accused of being Crap himself in disguise but i get where he's coming from. He could just present himself better than acting like the sky is falling.

Well, I suggest you give up gaming because the future will be digital and it will be hardware agnostic. The new generation of gamers who grow up on smart phones and tablet wont give a flying fox. They will play their favorite games on multiple devices. The real "console" war is services war, it is XBL\Windows Store vs PSN vs STEAM.

I do like the idea of save games roaming between platforms, however I agree that MP should not be cross play for the reasons you stated, unless the mechanics don't lend themselves to kb/m advantage.

Anyhow, I see this as a good forward thinking move. I wouldn't be upset even if Halo 6/ Forza 7 etc is released for Windows 10.

Maybe we should call the Xbox section "Xbox/Windows10 or a lot of the Xbox games will end up in the multiplat section going forward.

Might as well. I think Halo 5 for PC will be coming in September and once they announce Gears 4 for PC it's over. Phil talked about this vision years ago but nobody really believed it would happen. They know they can't compete with Sony worldwide. So might as well cut out the hardware aspect and focus on being a service. We went from All In One as the motto to Everything On Everything. On to plan B.

I hope they bring every game over. I don't believe for one minute it will stop many people buying an Xbox One. Console and PC gaming are two totally different beasts. I will have a beast rig for my VR but I still think I'll be playing on Xbox for the majority of my gaming time. Ive had PC's much more powerful than the consoles and still mostly play Xbox. The truth is PC's just aren't as suitable for living room gaming. Yes you can plug a pad in but you're still going against m/kb players and Trying to use a m/kb on a sofa just doesn't work.
The Xbox will be fine, all it means is more sales for MS published games which in turn will mean more console exclusive games going forward. Win, win.
It's also a nice bonus for any Xbox owner who also has a Windows 10 gaming PC not having to double dip on certain games.

People need to start thinking of Xbox as a multiplatform platform. First party games will be able to be played on the Xbox one, Windows 10 desktops, Windows 10 laptops and Surfaces. That's what Microsoft is going for and the direction they should be heading.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. When gaming goes all digital i'm done. I won't support it. I like having a console and a collection of games. It's a part of gaming to me. By that time my backlog will be so big i'll have enough games to play until i'm on my death bed anyway.

Maybe if the games are $20 new i'll support an all digital future. But that's not happening, since games cost a lot to make. I know people said the same thing about music and other things, but once gaming goes digital it's a good time for me to call it quits.

So what you're saying is that the physical plastic used to currently deliver games to you, is more important than the games themselves??

I get wanting physical things, I feel the same way about paper books still. The thing is, if literature ever goes full digital, I'm not going to stop reading. Will you stop listening to music once CD's are no longer produced?

Not criticizing you, I just think it's a bit odd that you value the delivery system more than the content.

I just don't like the idea of digital. It makes sense for music or books. I like the option of having a collection and the option of trading games in. While i rarely do it, it's still a nice option to have. Games shouldn't be $60 then.

Why are PC gamers getting deals but we'll most likely still have to pay full price? Microsoft better just buy Steam if this is the future. Don't tell me digital is somehow benefiting me when you're a 400 billion dollar company.
