That's 3pm eastern, of course. It will be livestreamed.

Expected Neo reveal.

Note: This thread is for discussion of PS4 Neo, PSVR, Slim, and other aspects of this conference. It is not for console war talk.

Please keep "vs" talk and discussion of other platforms out of this thread. Thank you.

I'm not expecting much, but hopefully I'll be in for a surprise.

I'm expecting it to be relatively low-key. They'll showcase the Neo, but they will talk about how closely tied it is to the PS4; they don't want to alienate that install base. They will talk about the increased power, but I don't think there will be a lot of hoopla about it. I don't even know if they'll give specific numbers (hope they do). I don't expect them to show a Neo demonstration reel (e.g., Neo vs. PS4), but I guess we'll see.

Then we'll get the "reveal" of Neo's ugly brother, Slim, plus another look at PSVR, with games to showcase that. And a little on the new controller.

I'm not expecting much more than that. It'll be good to have the Neo actually revealed, though, with price and date.

It will definitely be low key. Seems like Sony is embarrassed by what has transpired the last few months. You know they would have been talking about the Neo a long time ago otherwise. They had their thunder stolen.

Oh well. Looking forward to seeing what the Neo really is all about. Either way, Sony has the most powerful console for another year and i'm sure the Neo will do some amazing things.

Yea. I think Sony was caught off guard with Scorpio. Now people are comparing the two as if they had similar goals. Over all Sony is fine. They have a better console at the cheapeast price and most games.

I think they said 2-3 pieces of new hardware to be revealed..? So the Slim, and maybe something else?

My only interest is seeing Neo games (rumors of TLOU 2 floating around!!), the price, and the specs. If the leaked specs are correct (which they most likely are), the big question for me is if they will list them.

If they don't give hard specs, that confirms the leaks for me anyways.

My guess is no specs, just crazy sizzle reel of what they expect games to look like. They'll let the games excite people so the specs aren't put in the spotlight.

I saw a rumor of a new handheld too. Codename Trinity.

Would make for a killer event.

If they honestly announce a new handheld after abandoning the Vita I will probably quit gaming entirely.

I read a rumor that they are going to delay Neo to match Scorpio. I don't see how it's possible, they would have to delay PSVR too as I don't think the headset is going to run worth a darn without that extra horsepower. I guess they could push that back too but wouldn't doing this cost Sony millions? They'd be better off just getting a years worth of sales out of Neo until Scorpion knocks it out and then having a Scorpio killer come out maybe by 2018.

I've demoed PSVR a few times now and it runs flawlessly with the current PS4. In turn I cannot see any delay having an adverse effect on the status/release of the PSVR.

I really doubt there is going to be a delay, or an upscale of the specs. I think that's just wishful thinking. There would be a lot of logistical problems with reversing course at this late date, plus the sacrifice of tons of R&D time and money. It's just not very likely at all. We also had the recently leaked sketch from the Foxconn employee, which suggests that the console is on the assembly line.

We'll find out for sure in a week.

That's interesting to hear as there have been quite a few articles about framerates and nausea which was blamed partially on the games needing more muscle to run properly. Not doubting your experience one bit as I you've never made my list as a raving Sony fanboy. Thanks for putting those concerns to bed.

Andy, I figured it was maybe wishful thinking for, oddly enough, Sony fanboys to have Neo delayed. 2017, 2018, and maybe longer it is going be a tough time for those who only fly for the blue team. I think it's a good thing. Green had it for a few years and now blue has had it for a few. It's good the hobby to not only have 1 side winning the trophy every season.

For whatever reason I've been delaying all my game preorders until I know if Neo is coming this year or not.

Apple screwing with video games again with their conference on th 7th. I don't think they'll overlap this time though.

So I wonder what a psvr+neo bundle would cost lol

Yeah, that's what I meant -- wishful thinking among some people in the Sony camp.

I'm not sure how much of a "tough time" it's going to be. Depends on your perspective. But I don't really want to get into an analysis of PS4 vs. Scorpio here, so I'll just let that drop.

I'd prefer this thread be a place where people who don't want to engage in console war bickering that characterizes the general thread can come and discuss the Neo, Slim, whatever. (In fact, I'll add a note to the OP.)

My source has confirmed.....

PS4 Slim $299 (500GB 5400rpm) - Available next week
PS4 Neo $499 (1T 7200rpm) - Available November

If true, that 1TB harddrive is really weak for neo. I would have expected the Slim to have at least that much.

Latest drawing from Foxconn source. Supposedly it's 3 cm. taller than standard PS4.

nah its a step up and we don't want the costs to be 2 high....besides we can upgrade and its cheap/er and easy.

I think it's lame as hell. Cheap ass sony, I thought this was a premium console. At least give us the option like Xbox one S

I have had a 1TB in my consoles since launch and most of my games are digital.
1TB is a decent amount that can be manageable and again you can upgrade the HDD if need be..
You never upgraded yours did you? Its fairly easy to do man with dozens of how to videos all over the net.

As far as the options part I agree with you but maybe the price would go threw the roof?

Funny gifs at GAF, comparing original PS4 to Neo. Here's one.

It's gonna suck having to install 50-70 CDs to the hard drive for each game...
