Project Scorpio v3.0

Where did the Aug. release date speculation come from?

It's because Forza 7 got listed online somewhere for an August 17 release date .

Apparently there is also some new Scorpio information leaking somewhere tomorrow, but we'll see if that's true.

The new CPU rumor is eight core, eight thread, 3.2 GHz. And apparently the reason for it being that is to enable hi fidelity VR for Scorpio.

MS has had a history of being a bit predatory with their business practices, again I don't know that what Sweeny is saying is agreed with by many but if what he says is true I can see his point.

When the defense for something someone says continues to be "some people agree with him" one should really take a few minutes to read Youtube/IGN/Facebook political comments and realize what a s***ty argument "some people agree" is.

Hmmmm... I missed the article saying F7 is coming August 17.

Consoles typically don't get released until the fall, although August is kind of close enough.

Aug 17 is such a weird date too because it doesn't look like it's a placeholder date like Jan 1 or Dec 31.

Despite that, I'm thinking Aug 17 is false.

8/17 is also a Thursday and not Tuesday.

More like NOTHING was officially said by Sony regarding its specs(unlike MS and Scorpio)
But carry on with the lame fanboy defense like others here.
You realize you're totally contradicted yourself here, right ? Digital Foundry obviously had the official specs for the pro because it was exactly what they said it was going to, be to the T. Even though you were saying differently and when the official specs for released you were getting hammered page after page that night. Selective memory again?

Aug do seem odd but again they want to male sure it can breath and nothing is better for MS do the get a surface book and get scorpio for free.

I seen these deals many times.

Question for TV and monitor experts. Looking to hit sweet spots on both a 4K TV and monitor. I'll be purchasing one of them later this year and the other in 2018.

Do we believe Scorpio might support wide screen mode on wide screen monitors? Is HDR going to be a thing with monitors?

Aside from HDR 10 and latency, what are some other features you'd look for in a 60" gaming TV towards the end of the year? Is HDR going to be possible at low latency and low input lag?

Rtings.com, man. Rtings.com...

They include gaming caregories. It all depends on what size you want and how much you are willing to pay, and the site makes it very easy to compare different than tvs.

To answer your question- yes there are TVs that have low latency in hdr game modes. I love my Samsung ks8500, but it's not the only kid on the block.

Why is Valliance allowed to troll so strongly in this thread.....
He have one of these.

Foza tends to release Sep/Oct, Iseriously doubt the August rumour.

Yeah it seems like an odd choice, my money is still on the fall, being that is when they previously said it would launch and they also want to make sure that there are games launching around the same time that will show off the hardware nicely. The silliest thing they could do would be to launch it with nothing but patched older titles supporting it for a month or two.

NOPE SONY NEVER came out and stated the specs.
I don't care if the rumors ended up true or not this is NOT the same situation as MS last June started telling the world Scorpio existed and its specs, unlike Sony.
I NEVER I said I knew(I made hopeful guesses) what the specs were..I said anything could happen as Sony NEVER stated what the specs were. Nobody hammered nothing, only people acting like morons like you are doing right now by wrongly comparing what Sony didn't say and than do to what MS did say and do and attempting to twist what I said.

Yeah he isn't picking on scorpio just on all scorpio fans including you because some idiot said something stupid in Guam. Man this place... :smash:

'Project Scorpio' Xbox will pack internal PSU and 4K Game DVR capture (exclusive)
Microsoft's industrial design team has ensured that new Xbox, dubbed "Project Scorpio," will feature an internal power supply unit (PSU), just like the Xbox One S.

You can file this one under "O" for "obvious," but we can confirm via our trusted sources that Project Scorpio will have an internal PSU. It seems that the age of the hulking Xbox power brick is truly over.

We also received some more snippets of Scorpio information from our sources, helping us begin to paint a picture of what this six teraflop "monster" will look like.

In Microsoft's efforts to make Project Scorpio a true 4K system, it will also feature HEVC and VP9 codecs for decoding 4K streams for things such Netflix, just like the Xbox One S. It will also leverage HEVC for encoding 2160p, 60 frame-per-second (FPS) video for Game DVR and streaming.

Microsoft's Beam streaming service has been running public 4K stream tests for some time, and it's now fair to assume it will not only be PC streamers who will benefit. Project Scorpio's Game DVR will allow you to stream and record clips in 4K resolution with 60FPS, according to our sources, which is a massive, massive step up from the 720p, 30FPS you get on the current Xbox One.

For serious content creators, Project Scorpio could become a critical 4K video game capture solution.

For serious content creators, Project Scorpio could become a critical 4K video game capture solution for making clips for YouTube videos, shunning the need to pick up oft-expensive external capture cards. Today's 4K video game capture cards are not only quite rare but tend to be even more expensive than 1080p solutions.

With every bit of information we receive about Project Scorpio, the theme of native 4K keeps appearing — not only for games, but also console features. We now believe Scorpio will sport 4K Game DVR, 4K Blu-ray playback, and 4K streaming apps, but the real showstopper will be the 4K games Microsoft will likely flaunt at E3 2017.

Keep it locked to Windows Central for all the latest information on Project Scorpio. We just might have a few more surprises in store ...

While that's true, and I was hopeful with you if you remember, but Microsoft hasn't given a detailed spec sheet either. Just 6TF gpu.

CPU is still a mystery. Will it have Esram? Will it not?

Who gives a s*** if specs are announced or not? Its stupid, and meaningless, and an idiotic argument.

End the nonsense.

Scorpio being rumored to feature 4K game capture. I think this could mean a new Kinect camera (I hope) or at the very least, support for Kinect 2.0.

Edit: I'm reminded that Scorpio will support "ALL" X1 peripherals.

Another needless article. The media should just wait until Scorpio releases and end all this speculation. / sarcasm

For the PS4 you were promoting inflated specs, against almost all the credible rumours.

Scorpio, you're pretty much grasping at straws to find a flaw, and any flaw... You know that it will be better than whatever PS has out, and the only acceptable colour standard you're willing to accept right now is Dolby vision?

... Either way,I don't give a f*** about that.

How many people do you think Dolby vission will effect? Sure, you spent more money on a TV than most people are willing to spend on a months mortgage. Kudos to you. you can also enjoy the 30 films supported by DV.

BUT NOTHING ELSE. It's obviously horrible. (And when I say horrible, I mean how painful it must be for you to suffer anything less than HDR. I mean, 900p is unplayable for you. 'Unplayable' is the word you used.)

Imagine having to see something in non HDR or 1440.

More importantly, if DV is offered and it takes 1 fps from the gameplay, is that justified from the outcome for 2%(i'm being generous) of the population?

Im just spitting silly numbers here, but obviously DV is largely irrelevant to the gaming community. Have you brought it up as much in the PS4 forum? Or at all?

I'm a bad consumer. I'm not willing to pay $5,000 for a tv I can buy two years later for half the price.

I don't care about DV. I'm pretty sure no one will actually give a s*** about DV for a few years, except for hardware enthusiasts. But they probably game on PC anyway. Because PC games are where the enthusiast market lie.

If you can discern the difference between HDR 10 and DV something without them being side by side, kudos to you man.

I REALLY and HONESTLY hope that Sea of Thieves and Crackdown can do something new with physics, to the point where graphics weren't all that mattered.

Luckily it didn't effect Zelda though. Nor the 'Unplayable resolution' (Direct quote for 900p Val.)

And now that I've slagged everyone, Let's celebrate an ACTUAL console refresh, and hope for new experiences.

The developers of the first new game to benefit from the refresh, Shadows of War, have already stated how they're excited about what they can show...

I can't wait.
