ok got to the part some a****** in here spoiledhowever that was f***ing epic the way they did it with the music color way it was shown it was still insane badass. This game is just f***ing epic so far.
I just made it to that part last night. And even though I knew what was coming it was still a big moment for me. I was shifting in my seat like I had to go to the bathroom and in my head was like "awwww yeah old faithful is back to rek sh!t".
There's one thing that is clear. I take it personal when some dirt bag enemy takes a swipe at Atreus. No one and I mean no one lays a finger on my BOY and lives.
I went through the same thing with the Witcher 3 after I finished it...then the expansions came out and I was happy again.

yeah it was cool the issue is I've yet to do a fight as epic as the first one. I got to that part last night then quit there. cool but not as cool as the first boss fight. did not feel I had enough control during the fight.
Just dropping in to share some early impressions. I just got to the land of Elves, so that'll give you a sense of how far I am. Not far.
I had a few misgivings early on, but those have passed.
At first I thought I wouldn't like Kratos, because he's such a hypermasculine blockhead, but he's growing on me. I started to like him when Atreus began goofing on him. That told me that the game wasn't going to take Kratos as seriously as he takes himself, which was good news. Sense of humor helps a lot.
I thought at first that the game was going to be all toughness and slaughter. But as Atreus talked more, I could tell the game had heart. It became really clear when we met the witch. That was a great scene. There have been a couple times when I've teared up a little, which means I'm connecting with the characters/story, so that's a good sign.
Combat was an issue for me at first, too. It was more challenging than I expected. It's taken me a while to get a feel for it. I'm still not very good, but at least I'm not dying anymore, and the game isn't continually reminding me that I can select a different difficulty level (ha). I'm normally a distance fighter, so it's a learning curve with the melee. I made some dumb gear selections in the beginning and didn't understand how to use Atreus. But things are getting better.
The last issue was that the graphics seemed nice but I wasn't thinking they were all that impressive. Then I discovered that, in routing my PS4 through my stereo a couple weeks ago, I had somehow castrated it of 4K/HDR, and it was outputing in 1080p. Doh. So tonight I rewired it, and, guess what, it looks a whole lot better.
So anyhow, I'm enjoying it a lot. Great game so far.

I laughed when I watched it, anyone watching a clueless gamer video and not expecting the game to be clowned on must be a first time viewer.
Haven’t done any Valkyries yet. I’ve been messing around in the Workshop loads though. That place is great.
ok, beat it yesterday. very good game. I'd like a game plus mode so I don't have to do any side quests and just play the story powered up. I feel the story by the time I spent hours doing side stuff lost some of its impact as hell sometimes I forgot what was even going on. The last boss fight was good but I still feel the first one was the best. they still left I ton of stuff unanswered and I would have liked to see more gods in the game but that is what future games are for.
like I said very good game but I want a game plus so I can just play the story stuff and skip all the side stuff if I play again. the game would be harder to play without getting powered up by doing the side stuff.

I’ve spent so much time on side content that I would get lost trying to find my way back to the main story mission. Pathfinding in this game could be done better. The map wasn’t very useful early on as it doesn’t display exactly what routes you can take but I’m pretty familiar with the area now.
I know I’m near the end but I’m now hooked on completing the last challenges on Mount Doom in Muspelheim. The Valkyrie at the summit was the toughest fight I’ve come across so far. And I read there are more scattered around the world. I don’t think I’ll take them on until I started and completed the grind for new armor found in Nilfheim.
I also want new game plus. It would be a shame to do all this grinding and not be able to use the increased power that we worked so hard to acquire. It’s the only way I will attempt a new game on the hardest difficulty. And since there is no dlc planned that will be the only way to get more out of this game once I’ve completed it the first time.

yeah, the Valkyrie fights are pretty cheap. they fly all over the damn place and you move like a slow ass tank.
I’ve only faced one Valkyrie but I didn’t feel like the fight was cheap. Sure, she has super speed compared to my movements but that was part of what Kratos had to overcome. I fought her so many times that I didn’t even have to use my resurrection stone when I defeated her. Once I learned her patterns and tells it wasn’t that difficult to put her down for good. In my opinion what made the fight so hard was the fact that there is little room for error. She does so much damage with each hit that messing up once could mean the end of the fight. And most of my mistakes were from me getting greedy with the hits instead of backing off to reset my position and read her next move. Another big mistake was running in for health and getting clobbered for it instead of being patient and looking for the opening to heal instead of forcing it. And like an idiot I wasn't using my healing talisman which I have since equipped.
I need one more stone to complete the Infinity Gauntlet.
So I beat all the Valkyries. The first one was hard simply because it was the first. Taking down the other seven was pretty easy except for a couple. But all were beaten in five to ten minutes.
But the queen? Two hours. Twice I was within one or two hits of downing her and I died. I don't rage at games but I was gripping my controller pretty damn hard. There were many times where I knew within the first 10-20 seconds that I wasn't going to beat her so I would just restart the last checkpoint. I managed to beat her with no health on my end. So glad that's over.
Really wish there was a game+ mode. My gear is the bizness.

You must be on hard. I played on easy and nothing took me no more than say 15 minutes. On easy cuz I suck.
