It’s hard to believe that 343 Industries was formed just over a decade ago. Over the years, the team has learned a lot from creating Halo 4 and Halo 5 and from you, our community. I hope you can see nods to some of that in our demo, such as the approach to some visual elements. Halo Infinite will feature Sparth’s (Art Director, Nicolas Bouvier) new art style that draws significant inspiration from the most iconic and historic parts of the Halo franchise and your feedback, all while modernizing and taking advantage of the full power of the Xbox One family. The new Master Chief helmet directly showcases our new art style.

The team also heard feedback loud and clear on the amount of time spent playing as the Master Chief in Halo 5. In Halo Infinite, the game will focus on the Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5.

I know waiting can be hard for folks who are excited for more info about the game. We are taking the time we need to make the right game and are making changes to how we approach things this time around. The goal of the entire 343 Industries team is to make a great Halo game for our fans that also invites new players into our franchise. We will have some new and unexpected directions to take folks in and I believe the way we achieve that is to build alongside our community, iterating and improving as we go.

In the future, you will be able to join early flighting programs that will let members of the community play the game with us, and give direct feedback, much like the current Insider flighting program for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It will take some time for us to be ready to kick those flighting events off, but when we do they will start small and grow along the way.

Not sure what they mean with new 'art style'. I though Halo 5 looked great. In any case this Slipspace engine looks really good, cant wait to see what they are going to do with it.

Built on a new engine called the Slipspace Engine, this new Halo game (IS it Halo 6) is looking to be charting some new territory for the series.

We know precious little, but the engine IS looking great, with a very REACH vibe. Open world? Obvioulsy taking place on a Halo Ring, and looking to take a step back toward the Bungie-style art direction. I really hope we get more info as the week progresses.

At any rate, here is a pretty insightful breakdown of the announce trailer/engine showcase. I especially like the idea of them having to use older tech (pre-Forerunner integration) to avoid Cortana's influence.

Seeing as there is a significant amount of time between now and when the games will be released, take all of this with a pinch of salt as plans and timelines can change but this is what I am hearing about the release of the next Halo games.

Notice how I am saying games? Right now, the next iteration of Halo may only be a single player game and if all goes according to plan, could arrive, at the earliest, towards the end of 2019. The multiplayer aspect of this game is not expected to arrive until after the single player ships which pegs a 2020 release timeframe.

Eurogamer did one too

I also noticed those skinnier legs, lol. Female Spartan, perhaps?

I’m good with this. I think it gives them the best opportunity to make each portion of the game stand out on its own. For all those afraid that Microsoft will continue to short change single player, this should help some of that.

It’s great that Microsoft’s biggest and most expensive studio is finally ditching the ankle weight that is the Halo game engine created about 18 years ago. Only so much duct tape they could put on that thing.

Not sure I buy that. I don't play the multiplayer anyhow, but I imagine an SP-only launch would flop.

Not necessarily, besides being part of game pass means not too much reliance on unit sales. By the way, it doesn't make sense to release first. Waited so long may as well release in 2020 as a whole.

A rumour going around is SP mode will release before MP mode. SP in 2019, MP in 2020.

Hard to believe.

When was the last time any game split out modes like this a year later?

Putting SP and MP on different schedules makes sense.

Prey just did if. I don't know if it's quite the same since my guess the MP in prey will not be focused on to much like a Halo but cool they added it nonetheless.

Unless they are just gonna charge 30.00 per each, I can't see people putting up with it. If they did this and tried to charge us 60.00 each, the backlash would be pretty big.

I wish more series would sell it separate. If you want MP boom just buy that at a reduced price. You a SP gamer, then just get that part for $20. Me I buy COD and BF for MP only and have to pay $60 or more for a better edition with extra content.

A lot of the flak for the art style was how enemies and such were some much different than what they were in Bungie's games. The Elites come to mind the most. In the Bungie games they were lean and quick, with almost cat like agility. In the 343 games they became more of a hulking beast.

I only see good from this. Especially with Game Pass. Give me the portion that’s ready first first. Work on each component individually and release when done. Less pressure for both teams to hit one date.

I heard Frankie put the kibosh on this. Not sure what he said exactly. No link, sorry.

Don't see the benefit of releasing as two parts while being considered one game.

It'll kill the hype. Maybe if two separate titles.

I’m surprised no one noticed the warthog driving through the desert kicking up the dirt that eventually hit those stone stargate like rings. Who ever worked on the particle effects for the warthog needs to send that tech over to the two Forza devs.
