Smash Brothers Ultimate Limted Edition...

Pretty nice. Are these things going to be sold separately?

So... never played a smash game... how does it stack up to tekken, soul calibur and street fighter? How has the single player stuff been?

karmakid do you have any thoughts on my post, played the sequels, insights?

I’ve only played a previous game really briefly with some friends, they’ve played it way more than I do I lost every round. From what I could gather the move set is pretty intuitive, deep and easy to pick up. If I were to rank them amongst the games you listed it’d be tied with SF; Soul Calibur, Street Fighter-Smash Bros, Tekken.

But if your looking for something fun and full of spectacle with some friends it’s definitely a game to get. Especially with such a huge cast, maybe some surprises later, you’ll find one that’ll put a smile on you.

It’s probably the best fighter for the Switch upon its release.

Oh and there’s bound to be a plethora of mini games that’ll keep you coming back, if you get bored of pvp. :)

I’m gonna jump in on release date, since I got the GCU at BestBuy it’ll be like 47 dollars, and Nintendo games rarely go on sale and takes a good while before they drop down in price, if ever. And I’m gonna try and hit up my cousin currently in Europe and see if she’ll send me the CE I posted above lol

Good info! Seeing how little of interest that'll be releasing on switch this year, I'll probably get this day one too. I do love Nintendo characters, first console being the NES and all.

Aside from playing a bit of an old one at a friends house, the last Smash Bros is the only one I've really played. It's an easy game to pick up but there is quite a bit of layer to the fighting. I would say that while not the same mechanics, it can definitely get as in depth as a regular 2D and 3D fighter. The single player in the last one was ok I guess. I got plenty of hours out of the game while barely touching the online. It has your normal arcade mode to fight through to the boss character. It also had something sort of like Mario Party where you move around a board picking up random fighters to use and lose. There were also some other modes like survival mode in other fighters where you get a bit of health after a fight and see how long you can go.

That said, I have no clue what will be included in this game but with the Smash Direct coming up we might find out. Plus with this game including every character in the series I would say it is the perfect time to jump in. The little bit of game play I have seen looks amazing, and this is easily my most hyped game for the fall. Might even have to pick up online for it and get my ass kicked.

Don’t know how I’m going to be able to play this game with out getting called the N word and F word by a bunch of 10 year olds.
Can't remember if Wii U friends came over to Switch, or if you're already on my Switch friends list, but if you're getting this and want to play online I'd be willing to be a punching bag.

I didn't pick up on this during the video, but Sanic gave his life trying to save Pikachu.

He had a follow up to people asking for their preferred character and pretty much told the to F off lol.

I've just been playing Smash trying out different fighters and unlocking more. Just did Mario's classic mode and that was a blast. Haven't even touched adventure mode. There's so much stuff to do.

This really sounds great.
My only fear is that'll grow bored of just bouts against cpu without any real story. I really loved mkx and injustice 2 purely because it hooked me with a great story mode. Not sure how deep this game is outside of the pure fighting.

There appears to be some story aspects to adventure mode but i doubt it comes close to Injustice or MK. I'll post more impressions as i dig through it. It is however deep with what is nigh limitless options of spirits and support characters that change your main fighters stats or grants abilities i.e. one of them has items that get dropped on the field gravitate towards me. I'd imagine as the fights get harder that the team setup will become really important.

I was playing around with the controller config. It allows you to stop pressing up from making a jump, I'm really glad I can turn that off.

Yea I'm not sure how much story is in adventure mode. Classic mode is more like your standard arcade mode in a fighting game. Five or six fights then a boss fight. Pretty sure there is one for every fighter so there is a ton of content right there. The spirit stuff seems overwhelming honestly but haven't even tried adventure mode yet so who knows.

After some more time with adventure mode there hasn't been any story since the opening cinematic. I would say there if your looking for a story mode you will be disappointed. Adventure mode is still plenty deep and fun still, well until I hit the frustrating stages lol.
