PTS + 1.0 Walkthrough: G-Coin & Crate System

Hello everyone,

As we mentioned in our Xbox 1.0 Announcement, we will be introducing a new in-game currency system to purchase cosmetics on 1.0 launch day, September 4. This currency is called G-Coin, and we’ll go over how it works below.

Before we go more in-depth, we wanted to announce that we will be testing out the new G-Coin and Crate system as well as overall lobby features on the PTS. As this is the first time we are introducing these changes to PUBG on Xbox, we are focusing on testing the stability and integrity of this system before it hits live servers.

For those who haven’t yet used the PTS
The PTS is a separate PUBG server that’s free to download for anyone who already owns a copy of PUBG. To take part in the test, all you have to do is own a copy of PUBG for Xbox One and search for “PUBG Test Server” on the Microsoft Store.

Schedule:
PDT: August 29 5:30am
CEST: August 29 2:30pm

PTS will be available to all players, available maps (Miramar, Erangel) will be the same as live servers. Please be aware that only Solo TPP on the NA server will be available to play on due to lower player numbers compared to live servers, which can lead to extended matchmaking times.

PUBG Test Servers will be open until 1.0 launch. Please note that this update will not include new in-game content or hotfixes. This update will be using the same build as the last PTS update, with G-Coin and the new crate system.

Players will be given 13,000 G-Coin each. This will be enough to purchase everything available with G-Coin. We are also giving everyone 100,000 BP on PTS. As this PTS focuses on the new Crate System and G-Coin, please spend every penny you got. Event Pass: Sanhok will not be available to be purchased and used.

G-Coin is the hard currency that will coexist with BP, which is the soft currency that’s currently in the game. G-Coin is purchased with real money, while BP can be earned by playing the game. With 1.0 launch G-Coin can be purchased in the Microsoft Store and in the in-game store.

With G-Coin, you will be able to directly buy cosmetics such as skin sets and parachute skins, as well as other items such as:

- Event Pass: Sanhok

- Skin sets made up of items that can be obtained from crates

- Skin sets that can be unlocked from Event Pass: Sanhok

- Skin sets exclusive to G-Coin

On the other hand, crates cannot be purchased with G-Coin and will only be sold for BP.

After looking at feedback on crates from the Game Preview phase, we’ve made a few changes:

- You will now be able to choose which crate you want to buy.

- We’ve made a few adjustments to the probability of getting certain items in the crates.

- You will be able to see a preview of what is inside each crate.

- Crate prices will not increase with each purchase and each type of crate will have a fixed price.

- There will be no locked crates - You can’t buy keys to open crates, because they have no locks on them.

We’ll also be adding a few new crates to the overall system, As of September 4, there will be a total of five Crates available to purchase with BP:

- Wanderer

- Survivor

- Biker

- Western Military

- Raider

And last but not least… Weapon skins are officially coming! Weapon skins will be available through the Raider Crate. We will have other ways to purchase weapon skins in the future as well.

G-Coin was developed specifically with Xbox One in mind. We developed this currency system as a way to adapt to the needs of the Xbox ecosystem and the absence of a Marketplace. As PUBG’s economy is still relatively new on the Xbox platform, we had more flexibility to make changes and implement community feedback.

We hope you enjoy testing out the new G-Coin and Crate System! Please be sure to leave us your feedback on our channels so that we can continuously improve upon the system in the future!

Best,
PUBG Xbox Team

Is English your first language?
Simple fact is that little cherry picked quote doesn't promise you anything. All it satates is the obvious fact that X1X can run it at 60 fps and X1 can't.

They have never promised it would run at 60 fps either.

But sure, keeping trying to make out it says somethging it doesn't. s*** is hilarious.

LOLZ. Only made changes when it incorporated MTs.

"Definitely on Xbox One X, 60FPS. On Xbox One, we’re not sure,” Greene told Games. “We may have to limit it at 30FPS, maybe, but the last time I saw it, it was running at about 30 to 40. We’re still constantly improving it so, you know, the aim is to get to 60.”

Anybody else think the skins are just trash? 90% of them are just beige or silver. Hope there are more interesting ones come Sep 4th.

Also, no idea what the tweaked probabilty is, but after 75 Biker crates still didn't get jack from the top line.

Xbox 1.0 Walkthrough: Sanhok

Hello everyone,

With the 1.0 launch of PUBG on Xbox on September 4 comes a highly anticipated addition to the game for everyone to enjoy - welcome to the new map, Sanhok!

Sanhok is a 4x4km island map inspired by a wide variety of islands across southeast Asia, including those found in Thailand and the Philippines. To reflect that inspiration, we invented a sort of hodgepodge combination of two words:

First, the Thai word for “fun:” สนุก (pronounced like “sah-nook”)
Second, the Filipino (Tagalog) word for “chicken:” manok (pronounced like “mah-nok”)

Combine the two and you get Sanhok (pronounced “sah-nok”)!

Introduction to Sanhok’s locales:

Cave - Here you’ll find an abandoned archaeological site, located in the heart of a seaside cave. Parachute in through the open top for access to the best loot and a boat for a quick escape.

Ruins - Only the most daring players will brave these claustrophobic chambers. The Ruins reward those who survive the close-quarters combat with all the loot they can carry. Drop onto the roof to storm the temple from above, or sneak in through the ground-level tunnels.

Paradise Resort - Welcome to Paradise, Sanhok's finest (and only) luxury resort. This compound has it all: cross-courtyard sightlines for snipers, thrilling room-to-room breaches for shotgun specialists, and mid-ranged corridors that are perfect for honing your SMG skills. Checkout is at 11:00.

Training Center - Measure yourself against the best of the best in this abandoned training facility. Survive a tactical obstacle course to get loaded up with loot. Either get good or die trying.

Quarry - This flooded limestone quarry is a both a visual, and tactical departure from the lush, green wilds of Sanhok. With few trees for cover, you’ll have to push from mound to mound, looting and hunting while vulnerable to players on the rim of the quarry.

Docks - Explore cargo ships filled with loot in this out-of-the way drop, located in the Southeast corner of Sanhok. With plenty of opportunities for mid-range to CQC encounters, this is a terrific drop for newer players hoping to get their bearings, farm up, and escape!

Roads - Some areas in Sanhok are now paved with old concrete roads. Watch out for campers and use these to outrace the blue zone!

Along with the new map, we will be adding two new weapons and a new vehicle. The weapon Beryl M762 and the vehicle Scooter will be available in the future updates.

New Weapon: QBU

New Weapon: QBZ

New Vehicle: Rony

Curious to learn more? Check out the Making of Sanhok, a mini-documentary giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the new map from concept to release.

Thanks,

PUBG Xbox Team

Anybody played yet? Any impressions about performance?

Didn't release till 2am my time, so couldn't try it out. Am downloading right now.

Played around 10 matches--6 Sanhok. The performance on Sanhok seems be very good. Map is good.

Performance on the other 2 maps seems the same as pre 1.0

Weapon Skins are crap.

Seems the bulk of what was added is Microtransactions.

War Mode not coming till end of September is just bulls***.

Still no actual map selection feature.

Wtf I thought new mode was launching with the map?

Played duos with a buddy on the new map. I love it. We got about 10 matches in in a little over 2 hours. We did good the first 4 matches or so with some kills and top 10’s then the back half of our matches we started getting bad luck and kept getting killed by people we didn’t even see. Favorite spot to jump is Pai Nan it’s along the river near the middle of the map. It ran great and I love the look of this map.

I’m in a slump on this game, or just everyone else has gotten better. Losing some easy gun battles and frustratingly getting shot by people with godly aim on this new map. Love the map though.
