They f***ed up either gamma or the brightness settings on the ps4, or the capture software/ hardware is bad.
So much sorrow in Nozomi, she makes every scene she enters sad... not sure why she acts like this? It's not her dad that got murdered by a chinaman in kung fu clothing with men in black suites driving away in high speed so the neighbors got scared and told ryo about it but it didn't really help him much and I'm still keep forgetting how he came to the conclusion that sailors had anything to do with it... but nozomi, why so sad? You took the choice to move to Kanada, and also, what japoonese moved to kanada in the 80s? Why not amerika? Thinking about it... maybe she is sad because ryo doesn't seemed to be bothered by it? Maybe she just want him to beg her not to go? If he just showed up at the airport, running towards the boarding cue, being hold back by security and yelling "Nozomi, don't go, I love you!"? Ryo really is cold. But still, I really like him, the way he just beat up sailors trying to have a good time, trying to forget how much they miss their wife and kids back home.
Anyway, great game.
I think the sadness stems from the fact that she genuinely cares for Ryo, she feels bad as to what happen to his father, she tries to comfort him but he’s so focused on finding the killer that he ignores those who care for him and the fact that she has to move tugs on those strings even more.
Nothing wrong with Canada, I got family up there, he’ll my grand parents bought a house up there instead of here in the states. They like their friendliness or worry about any volcanos lol
I think kanada probably is great, but I'm thinking the obvious choice in the 80s would be amerika for an Asian. Also not sure they even had discovered kanada back then?
I wish they had done more to make the controls feel more modern, yeah they moved them to the stick but it still feels almost like we are using the Dpad. These games deserve remakes not just remasters but I guess SEGA doesn't think the audience is there to bother going through the expense.
I haven't heard anyone expressing anything positive about these re-releases. I guess either they didn't do a very good job of it, or the games don't trigger the old nostalgia buzz. Or maybe people are too busy playing, I don't know. But after all this time of waiting, you'd think there would be a lot of happy Shenmue fans, singing the praises of the game. Instead I mostly hear silence.
I love Shenmue 1& 2 but I can't bring myself to buy this again. I think if it really had a significant upgrade it would be easier for me to purchase the games a second time.
Game is great, first is a bit hard to get through because of no time skip option though. Most reviews are good. Maybe rose tinted glasses on me, but I still love these games. Don't potate on Ryo please.
I’m really nostalgic for this series. But after watching YouTube videos of the remaster, I don’t know if I could force myself to play though either game.

Started playing Shenmue 2, and it's... Ewwe? The controls make it feel like you're running through mud. The rest of the "gameplay" elements are crap too. It'll be one of those games that 'critics' wank over for another decade though.

Well, digital foundry said port was okay (except no 4k support), I trust them, they have a good track run. Lots of potatoe comments there, they really should relax.

I didn't get hurt from your opinion on shenmue, although I disagree, I just thought you were a little too harsh on the game... but you might be right, bad opinions are still opinions and you have the right to have them.
