I don't think so. Sam lake and Remedy have always been incorporating extended live action bits in their games. I always suspected they had an interest in doing film.
That said, I dont doubt MS thought it would be a good fit for their future services platform at the time, and encouraged the approach they took. A tv show for Alan Wake fits right in with their philosophy.

Yeah it had something to do with the now defunct MS television studio thing that was going on. It wasn't like MS made them do it but I think there were disagreements on how it was to be done, honestly it never made much sense to do it anyway from a gaming perspective.

I dunno.. Im fuking weird I guess. I liked the TV show bits in QB. And I'm with Froz on this one. QB had a Hollywood type story concept that rivals the Matrix #1 in my opinion.

The TV parts were trash

Its best that they both moved on. Its a partnership that didn't really work out for either side.

They were fine, imo, and I did enjoy them for what they were. I don't like the concept of Game/Show, but it was something different. It should have just been game-play. The story itself was really good, and a Top-Level Sci-fi time-travel story in my opinion.

They at least tried to thoroughly logic it out, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of time-travel stories out there. I really don't like hybrid media. It's unnecessary and counter-productive.

An Xbox fan who likes TV? Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

They chased that cinematic feel that Sony has nailed in their games and it didn't work out for them.

Errr..It's totally different. Remedy tried incorporating full blown live action in their games..not just cinematic feel. It worked well with small parts with Alan Wake and its DLC. The problem is having a full tv episode after a level to progres the story isn't for everyone. It's also not the main reason why Quantum Break failed to sell or deliver. A ton of visual glitches, stuttering, crashes, bugs and poor marketing decisions contributed to having the game being known more for what it did wrong than right.

The forced walking sections are the bits that annoyed me. Live action stuff was fine and totally optional as it followed the bad guys

It's not healthy to get angry and frustrated by fans of other consoles, you might have/ get higher blood pressure and mentally your health might deviate from other stable humans. If you feel the need, I'll give you some quick tips on exercises and such for making your life more harmonic.

I haven't beaten QB yet but I played a bunch of it and loved everything I played. Except for the Xbox One X visual glitches...

This trailer just further proves why Microsoft needs to purchase Remedy. Amazing storytellers!
I was gonna say that trailer proves why MS SHOULDN'T purchase Remedy. That was not impressive looking at all IMO.

That said, where the f*** is Alan Wake 2.

Wonder if they'll use Järvis face on any character in this too. Remember first time seeing him in an interview and thought holy s*** it's max pain lol

Yeah, thanks for the Alan Wake 2 Easter eggs in QB, love getting hyped for nothing!!

Can't wait to play it Aug 27th 2020. Pretty sure it's another Epic exclusive so I'll be waiting until next year. Unfortunate for Remedy but hope the cash from Tencent is worth lower sales.

One of the parts of Quantum Break I didn’t love was all the slow walking story bits. Hurt the replayability a bit and this game seems to have a similar design.

Not a dealbreaker by any means, but if the action in this game is also amazing, I hope it’s not another situation where there’s just not enough of it
