Boring. Should have just called it The RDR2 Awards so everyone can jerk off over the game.

So transparent, so many of these trailers feature mostly female background characters or main characters yet less than 20% of the people buying these games will be female.

EDIT: It's one thing if it's something that's really story driven and has a narrative and the character happens to be female but FCNW looks like pandering to me and Anthem continues to feature females more than anything. Go back and watch their gameplay session reveal and it was one guy playing with a few women, like that's ever going to happen in real life lol.

I've never made a decision to buy a game or not based on if the main character was female.

It would never impact my decision period. Hopefully we get to the point where people just stop making a big deal about it either way..

I don't generally base a purchase on a characters gender but if it just feels like pandering it makes me less likely to buy it, those characters in the FCNW trailer looked like they'd get old fast.

I loved the Tomb Raider reboot, Horizon ZD and I'm really looking forward to TLOU2 but that's because those are games that will let you get to know the character. FCNW isn't going to do that, so much of this stuff just seems like the pitch meeting started out with "We need the character to be female" before anything else.

I like the look of this Hello games premiere.

Edit: The Last Campfire, strange name but nice trailer.

Aren't they the villains in Far Cry or was I just not paying attention?

You can look at it as pandering but that's also how business try and grow market share. They have men so then they try and go after women to grow their market now. I guess thats still cynical but more number cruncher cynical and they will do that same thing in all different ways that go unnoticed.

I didn't even notice that there were a lot of women in the trailers until mentioned.

Geoff just did this to troll Joel

Looked like they were the playable characters to me.

I'm 99% sure they are the villains. I have already seen people complain that they aren't the main characters and I'm sure people are complaining that they exist period. So they are damned if they do damned if they don't.

I’m not all that interested in Super Smash Brothers. But the commercials are perfect. I thought it was Animal Crossing or some s***, then Mario comes in knocking heads.

Yeah it's just not going to happen though, yeah girls like to make money on twitch by gaming in their bikini but girls in general just don't play these games. It's their (publisher) way of trying to pretend they are being socially aware while trying to bring people in but it's just not going to work.
