Oh, the new headset will be a massive upgrade, but it'll probably be a 2022+ launch. Wireless is possible, but I don't think it will happen, it'll be more convenient though. I think they're going full steam ahead with tech, wireless makes that more difficult.
PSVR2, expect a big increase to FOV, huge resolution, and tracking upgrade. But the biggest thing imo--rendering saving technologies.
This will allow the PS5 to save on taxing visuals by only rendering what we can see at a given time. So, not only will we get the boost of magnitudes more powerful hardware, it'll be less taxed. Imo, this will allow big budget Sony exclusives in VR, and they'll look as good or better in the headset than a TV because of the tech. The difference is Sony can't tell where players are looking on a TV, they forced to render 100% of the screen to max settings....but in their headset, they don't have to, they know exactly where your pupils are focused and that's all they have to render at max settings. This is what people don't understand about VR tech going forward, we'll have the advantage of better looking and more immersion because of this, or if TVs get eye tracking somehow lol.
