Official Thread The Division v. 2

Just like the 1st game, this one fails to capture my interest. Played the beta for a few hours and couldn't for the life of me get into it. The game play is just not my cup of tea. I understand it's a beta, but the engine needs some serious optimizations. I see there is still CPU utilization issues that were present in the 1st Division. Frame rates are all over the place and it shouldn't be that way for a game that has mediocre graphics.

I dunno i think the visuals look pretty good especially the HDR and considering the scale.
Mind you i am playing it on a 75 inch so bad visuals i notice.
Performance is a mixed bag like the 1st as i can't play in ultra 4K and get 60fps so i tweaked a 3K res to achieve ultra/60fps.

It plays better in DX12. If they can improve DX12 support I might just give this game a chance. Hitman and Shadow of Tombraider in DX12 was a game changer performance wise. I'd like to see that level of performance enhancements in D2 (DX12).

Anyone play on X1X and have any impressions on performance?

Only played for 3 hours yesterday but overall I thought the performance was solid. On two occisions I came across a noticeable framerate drop. One was moving from one game region to another and the other I think was during some combat. There are a number of outstanding bugs on the beta so i wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

You play PC on a 75 incher? Isn't that against PC law.

I remember getting screamed at on PC centric forums when I said I played on a 42 incher.

As for Visuals, I like it. The colour palette is a lot better. The lighting seems better too.

Yeah and a 9.2 channel AVR :)
I am anti pc master race bs! I am a living room gamer.

Performance was good here too. I had some network lag at times. Rubber banding as well. My character also got stuck on some stairs.

Ah so thats what your video was about lol...It happened to me once as well and I got disconnected right after but Sunday was fine on the 1X...saw you guys in a private party of 3,wanted to send you a message for the last place but it filled up a few minutes after.

Damn, Skill Up just tore into this game on his beta impressions video. He was on PC and included video evidence of his sessions and it was not a pretty site. I figured some bugs would persist with the same engine but to not have them fixed in this sequel at this point in development is not a good look, he even spoke of reported PC cheats already in the beta. Hopefully things turn out better when the game goes live but Massive has a well.......Massive job ahead of them.

The Division 2 is Getting a PC Technical Test This Week

Ubisoft has announced a PC-only technical test for this weekend as a dry run for the platform's open beta.

"Our goal with this Technical Test is to assess a certain amount of fixes we implemented based on your feedback following the Private Beta," the dev said in a Reddit post. "This will help ensure that your Open Beta experience will be as smooth as possible."

It won't be open to everyone, but players who have been selected will be receiving email invites today. Ubisoft has stressed that pre-order customers are not guaranteed to get in, as the invites are being "distributed at random to ensure a wide range of participants."

The content available will be almost the same as the private beta, with the notable absence of Conflict, Endgame, and Photo Mode. And unlike the last beta, players won't be able to invite their friends to join them.

The technical test kicks off on Thursday, February 21, and wraps up on Friday, February 22. The exact times have yet to be shared, but participants will no doubt receive further details in their invites.

The upcoming open beta will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One between Friday, March 1 and Sunday, March 4.

Hopefully, the frequent crashes won't plague the experience this time around.

The Division 2 will have 50-person clans with their own progression system

With The Division 2's launch only a few weeks away, Ubisoft has unveiled the game's clan system. It's a big step up from the first game's non-existent system, letting you make and manage them in-game where you can all work towards common goals and earn clan XP. You even get a wing of the White House to live in, which I'm sure will look lovely once you clear out all McDonalds garbage left by the previous tenant.

The ability to create a clan will be unlocked in The Division 2's story, and then all you need is three other people to join you. Ubisoft wants to create smaller communities who work together, so there's a 50 account limit to each clan, though payers can make up to four characters each.

If you join a clan, you'll get updates and messages from fellow members of the group via the clan feed, along with two voice channels that can support up to 25 members each. While looking for a clan to join, a search feature will let you tailor the results to your playstyle, language and region.

Everything clan members do in-game will net the clan XP, which can then be used to level up the clan and get unnamed "additional benefits" and extra customisation options for your clan's insignia. You'll also be able to work together on weekly projects that reward everyone and focus on a specific aspect of the game. Hitting XP goals will also unlock three tiers of rewards.

Finally, there's your new digs: the East Wing of the White House. You can hang out with your clan buds, stash items and hit up the clan vendor. The latter's stock will improve as your clan levels up, and you'll eventually be able to buy unique headgear with your clan's insignia.

It sounds like there's a lot you can get out of joining a clan this time around. I might even be tempted to socialise! You can start searching for your new clan when The Division 2 launches on March 15.
