They don’t need to define it with words, only this! America, f*ck yeah! ;-)

Isn't the One S a bit weak CPU side to be using it as base tech for... anything?

So this is currently the one known as Maverick. Interesting idea here (and he’s still saying it’s coming this Spring):

MSoft already has all the info they need to launch a disk driveless system. I can guarantee you they track who is using a drive and who isn't. If they come out with a driveless system they already know who will buy it.

I can only see it doing well in the US, UK, a handful of parts in the EU and maybe South Korea

Oh, no, they'll lose their market share in Japan, which.... does the calculations... carries the one... is approximately zero point zero zero three.

First look at Xbox One S All-Digital box art; May 7, 2019, launch planned

Following up on our previous reveal of the Xbox One S All-Digital console, we now have a bit more information, as well as the box art and tentative release date.

Photoshop mockup of the Xbox One S All-Digital edition.

Recently, we received product photographs of the upcoming Xbox "Maverick" disc-less console's box, which will be called Xbos One S All-Digital edition, in addition to a bit of additional context on how Microsoft plans to position the device.

Initially revealed by Brad Sams at Thurrott.com, "Maverick" is the codename of an upcoming Xbox One S model that has no disc drive. Instead, this console will be entirely digital. Recently, we revealed that it will have a mid-April debut, likely at Inside Xbox, with an early-mid May launch window. Additional documents we received indicate that this launch date could be May 7, 2019, with all existing Xbox markets targeted in a global simultaneous release.

The design of the Xbox One S All-Digital appears to be virtually identical to the current Xbox One S, without the disc drive and eject button. The product shots we received seem to indicate that it will come with a 1TB HDD and with Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves, and Minecraft digital codes bundled into the box. It doesn't look as though it will be bundled with Microsoft's Netflix-like subscription service for games, Xbox Game Pass.

Our information suggests that the Xbox One S All-Digital edition will have the lowest recommended retail price (RRP) of all current Xbox One consoles, aimed at newcomers to the ecosystem, although the exact pricing is unknown at this time.

It seems that Microsoft is keen to position the All-Digital edition as a member of the Xbox One family rather than a replacement to the Blu-ray disc-based version it currently offers with the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. As such, it doesn't sound as though Microsoft is ready to ditch discs entirely, as it gears up to hit the next gen with the long-rumored Xbox "Scarlett" consoles, codenamed "Lockhart" and "Anaconda."

As with all rumors of this type take it with a pinch of salt until the official announcement, as plans can and often do change. But it seems pretty likely we'll be hearing more about the Xbox One S All-Digital console very soon.

This shouldn’t come as a major surprise since I wrote about this back in November, but Microsoft’s on the cusp of releasing a digital-only edition of the Xbox One S console. Earlier today, images of the device leaked and confirm my previously reported information.
Winfuture.de found the images and confirm everything I have reported so far, it’s arriving May 7th, will not have a disc drive, and looks just like an Xbox One S. Crucially, the new information states the device will cost 229 euros which is a bit more than I was expecting but this likely includes taxes as well.
In the US, I would expect the console to cost a little bit less than the European price when converted as this pricing would suggest a $259 price point in the US. This is is too high considering an Xbox One S bundle costs $248 currently.
Seeing as the images of the device are now showing up online, the official announcement shouldn’t be too far away. Microsoft is hosting an Inside Xbox event on April 16th and this may be where the company announces the new hardware.
What we have not heard about yet is Microsoft’s disc-to-digital program that is code-named Odessa. This is the ability to take disc-based games and trade them in for a token to download the digital version of the game.

Really? $259?

You would think it will take off another $50 to get people into digital goods.

Making it $199

That price is too steep.

The leaked box also reveals that the console will come with a 1TB hard drive, with pre-installed copies of Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3.

I wonder how many of these will be in retail stores, being that they basically rely on software sales to stay in business there isn't much incentive for them to stock something like this.

I have no problem with MS offering this as an option though, I am all digital now when it comes to games so I'd be totally fine buying a console with no disc drive.

It’s almost 50/50 physical vs digital. They will sell well at retail.

Besides the lack of a orifice and a 1tb hdd (where the current cheap S only has 500gb) I doubt we’ll see any other change inside or out...would love to be proven wrong. Maybe another USB port, oh or usb c???
they can at least get rid of that stupid ram they have in the S model and put the same kind that is in the xbox one x.

Looks like the PS5 will have an SSD so I was wrong when I said I didn't believe the rumors of the next xbox having an SSD, clearly both of them will be doing that next gen. If I'm wrong about something I'll admit it and I was wrong about this :)

I'm always willing to admit you're wrong also. :B->:

Looks like I was wrong again, I've posted this in the wrong thread LOL. I need to wait until I've had more than 2 hours of sleep before I post something, that way I'll at least look for more than Scarlet in the title lol.
