I wonder if something like this would work well with consoles instead of thermal paste, that is of course if they are assembled in the same way at all.

14TF 24GB, 8K Raytracking leak from 3 days ago CONFIRMED!
https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/

The leaked specs

  1. I'm a third party small developer from EU,for the last 8 months i've been helping a well known company in a AAA game development that is set to release in 2020 as a lunch game for PS5.

  2. Some infos that i'd like to share that are 99% correct(i say 99% because small incremental hardware change can occur till 2020,although specs are set in stone).

  3. -PS5 official info from Sony somewhere around next E3(Sony will not be participating on E3),i'd say Q2 2019 small reveal
  4. -PS5 release March 2020 or November 2020,not yet finalized
  5. -backward compatible
  6. -physical games & ps store
  7. -ps plus & ps plus premium ( premium-beta early access, create private servers,
  8. -specs CPU 7nm ryzen 8 core 16 threads,unknown speed
  9. GPU 7nm Navi arhitecture around 14TF,its gonna be powerful and power efficient,Sony working with Amd for Navi, some sort of Ray Tracing but will not focus on that, more focus with VR and 4k,much better bandwith overall
  10. 24GB Gddr6 + 4gb ddr4 for os,we have 32 gb dev kits
  11. -2tb hdd some sort of nand flash
  12. -8k upscaling
  13. -PSVR2 in 2020 also,reveal with ps5,big resolution boost probably 2560x1440,120hz,220 field of view,eye tracking,wireless,battery life 4-5 hours,headphones integrated,less motion sickenss,no breaker box,much less cable management,much more focus on VR for aaa games,price around 250$
  14. -dualshock 5,some sort of camera inside for VR,more analog precision for fps games, something similiar to steam analog trackpad

Still seems high on spec, but a few things give me pause- downplaying raytracing being one of them.

I don't know why a dev would be privy to pricing, so that's a red flag.

DF is crunching the specs and will have a video up in an hour or so. One thing is sure though, Sony is cutting no corners in regards to PS5 Specs.... Next gen is looking real good!

Now that is a next gen console.

Beautiful.

Honestly way better than I would've expected, though honestly I didn't expect a) Sony to reach for the $500 price point and b) I didn't expect to see them take any loses. So, $200 more beef than I would've assumed.

And dedicated 3D audio! My number 1 wish for years! f*** PSVR will be f***ing AWESOME!

3d audio is so underrated, I hope every developer starts implementing it. Very few games take advantage of Dolby Atmos and it's a damn shame because it's so much more immersive when they do.

I'm still shocked that an SSD is going to be part of the console, I can't believe they'll be absorbing that cost.

I wonder how big the SSD will be? I was wrong about SSD's even being included to begin with so I don't want to predict too much on the size but it sounds like this is a pretty high end one so I wonder if it'll be something that is just big enough to hold a couple of games and then we put the rest on a standard HDD for storage or if that'll be the only storage option in the console and it'll be larger than 1TB?

500GB minimum. Anyghing less is a waste of time.

1TB would be ideal, but unlikely imo.

Yeah games are going to be larger next gen and with some already requiring around 100GB of space that's only going to get worse next gen with higher end assets.

The SSD part, 3D audio and the VR info is confirmed though, so that's great news at least.

Cross your fingers on the actual specs though.

Don't want to get hyped on the Navi stuff, but I will damn it. I need a new GPU and I'm holding off to see what those cards can do. Supposed to launch this summer/fall last I heard. Also I would hope for an M.2 SSD instead of SATA at this point. Price really isn't that much more. Maybe they could do a 500GB M.2 along with a 500-1000GB SATA drive. I do that on PC. Whatever games I'm currently playing I just move onto my SSD and then move anything else off to the regular drive.
