HBO's Watchmen

It feels like a 'Mix' of Watchmen with V for Vendetta.

Lots are saying this is supposed to be years after Rorschach's journal is published. Post-Watchmen does peak my interests in all honesty. Hope this iteration went with the Squidthulu.

I'm going in with skepticism. I loved the graphic novels, and thought the movie did a decent job interpreting it - of course, with the exception of the change to the major threat.

A lot of people complain about the ending to the movie, but from a cinematic standpoint I thought it made more sense. I read the graphic novel about a year before the movie came out, and I actually liked the movie's ending more. I know I'm in the vast vast minority on this, but it's how I felt when I saw it, plus
It gives a better reason as to why Dr. Manhattan would just up and leave Earth forever IMO.

As far as the show goes, I really liked the first episode, but going in blind to this show is a bad idea. I feel like a newcomer to the Watchmen universe would be a bit off put by it. Lindeloff's tendency to confuse the viewer is there, and without any knowledge of Watchmen novel canon you couldn't possibly understand anything.

Quick watch of the film will do it. Show is using the film's better ending anyways

Anybody catch episode three? Best yet, really love the direction they're heading with it.

Dr. Manhattan has to make an appearance at some point. Also, where the hell is Nite Owl? In jail maybe? Love that they brought in Silk Spectre (Laurie) as a new main character. Also, Ozymandias is probably on Mars right? Loving his storyline

I’ve been wondering where Oz actually is..? And his helpers all appear to be Westworld types...?
Either way, good episode. So far it seems to keep getting better.

Graphic novel (and movie maybe, I don't remember) had a quote where Dr. Manhattan was talking about maybe creating his own humans. Possibly still ironing out the kinks with this? Or somehow Ozymandias grabbed two of them and just started cloning the ever loving crap out of them.

This is just brilliant. Last night I got to watch Mandalorian then last week's Watchmen. Not a bad night of TV at all :)

"Are you a friend of Nemo?"
