It wasn't worse than last episode...Currently the worst reviewed episode in the series and only the third episode to be rotten on RT
It wasn't worse than last episode...
Yes, rushed storyline is killing this season. They made a very terrible decision by truncating the last two seasons.Well that is one of the three but I agree.
Most of this episodes problems are related to previous episodes and their decision to rush to the end. This episode is well directed and deserves praise for its production values.
Well, my vote is done! I picked Cersei.
How I see it...I'm pretty concerned about how they deal with who rules with just the one episode remaining. There isn't time for anything that isn't Dany or Jon but I'm not convinced that will happen.
How I see it...
V1
Arya kills Dany and is then burnt by Dragon. Jon says he wants to go back to the wall and tells Sansa, "You got dis' sis!"
V2
Arya is killed by Dragon at Dany's order. Jon sees it happen and kills Dany. Jon he wants to go back to the wall and tells Sansa, "You got dis' sis!"
Well, it is titled Game of secular Thrones...Has felt like they were building to her being some kind of Queen for awhile but its hard to imagine how you can explain how most of Westeros just doesn't say f*** that in just one episode. Same with an ending that sees the Seven Kingdoms return. There just isn't time to make it work.
Well it's not like they didn't tell us this was going to happen back when Dany had her vision, the city was destroyed and it was covered in ash not snow. I agree longer seasons would have been nice but let's not pretend they are just pulling things out of their rear ends at the last minute, I also don't doubt that Martin told them what he planned so far so they could use that as a jumping off point.
Well its not the idea that is the problem its the execution.
Such an unforced error. I could have understood if they had to shorten the seasons to get the budget battles but that isn't the case.
You know many of the cast wanted to move on as well?
It's why some got killed off in S6 and 7
Anyways I'll also say the music when Cersei and Jamie died was lovely.
As for some of the complaints... let's b**** cause Cersei showed her human side just before she died The same woman so afraid in S2 she nearly took her own life.
Really happy I've never needed reviews cause the episode was great.
More seasons/Episodes doesn't matter. Still means they are tied to one job and will have to miss out on roles
Yeah they would to do the job they signed contracts for. No point in speculating on what the actors wanted to do because it has no relevance. Weiss and Benioff made the call. They could have made more if they wanted to and many would say they probably should have.
Dany burning slavers=Dany burning children?
Yes paid but tied down for most of the year. Natalie Dormer wanted to be killed in S5 due to missing out in various movie roles but the writers convinced her to stay one more season.
Others left for what they thought would be a big break with Marvels Iron Fist, the younger cast members are all starting to look too old for their roles.
They signed new contracts... new and much more expensive contracts. Easy to say carry on making stuff when it's not you paying s*** loads per episode.
And yeah the writers have had to turn down many possibly dream jobs over the 10 or so years they have been working on this and more importantly it comes down to George who was given more than enough time to finish the books which would have given them more material.
He got 3 books out in 4 years then 2 in 11 and had been saying for years he would finish the books before the show caught up. He screwed up by writing himself into a corner and still has time to release multiple side projects instead of just focusing on these.
But then if this is right
He clearly doesn't give a s*** about the people defending him.
If HBO wanted to they would have simply said thanks for everything and replaced D&D but they didn't.
Martin wrote himself into a corner and has no idea how to finish the story. I still have the phone book sized book sitting on a shelf somewhere. Hundreds and hundreds of pages of characters wandering around doing nothing but with intricate details. Martin is an amazing world builder and has some amazing ideas, but somewhere along the way he hit a wall. He killed or maimed every interesting character in the first two books, and had nowhere to go, so he came up with more that had no relation to anything else.
I mean if he releases some amazing book and proves me wrong, so be it.
I don't blame the show one bit. I'm all for waiting for the payoff, but what ending? Maybe HBO should do a whole season about Tyrion jousting on a pig?
