When first living on my own i would like to stock up and overfill my cart with whatever I wanted/needed. One day I went to a grocery store that I hadn’t been to in ages, I saw these massive lines, but at the far end there was one with a handful of people. I ran to it and quickly started to load the lil conveyor and the guy behind the counter gives me a funny look and I hear laughing in the distance, I glance back, look at my stuff and just decided to look up and notice said line was now the 15 and under express. I went red but continued my transaction in shame...

During Christmas a couple of years ago, I went through the 15 item only aisle with 20 gift cards. Some bitch behind me had a f***ing cow.

Don't get a pos Chevrolet these days. My last 3 vehicles have been Chevys and they get worse and worse each year in reliability. If you insist on getting one, make sure to get rid of it within 5 years or you'll be working on the pos constantly or having to get recall work done. I can't stress enough to save yourself a lot of hassle and avoid them.

I can echo this opinion. I bought a Chevy Cobalt a couple of years ago and I've spent a couple of grand easily in the last two years on weird s*** that wouldn't be considered normal mechanical failure.

Anti-theft system that randomly decides to not recognize your key. Computer chips that decides to not communicate with the fuel system so that its getting enough gas.

Speaking of gas, the gas tank on this thing is plastic. So of course I had a leak and had to replace the too.

Dont you hate it when you're at the grocery store and all you want to do is buy bread, but there's some lady hogging the whole area and going over the bread packaging like it's a life altering decision whether she should buy it or not?

I haven't personally bought a loaf of bread in years. Suck it

Yeah that's what most of them mentioned, just stream from the phone. I'm listen to a lot of Howard Stern and other interview stuff so it would actually be easier to just always pick up from where I left off on the app.

Since getting my Nissan Rogue a couple years ago they’ve been pushing Sirius XM on me at a discounted price. I just use my cars Bluetooth to use my Spotify for music and podcasts while driving.

I wasn't against buying Chevy, but with their price being more than a nicer Civic  Of course the Chevy dealer basically said they had more wiggle room, but still.

Thanks to everyone giving input, it really does help to talk things through. I always feel like I'm not doing enough research, but at the same time overthinking it.

For the Sirius over bluetooth, are you able to change stations and such with the radio itself? My only worry would be messing with my phone while driving. I do like to channel surf while stuck in traffic.

I wanna say yes, I never used Sirius but have used other music/podcasts apps, if it’s got Apple CarPlay or Android Auto you can change it via the controls on your steering wheel or dash buttons/touch screen or voice to change songs or playlist. Bluetooth only, from what I’ve tried, allows you to play next/previous or volume

I'm not sure about that, but I've found I can do quite a bit with Google Assistant voice control. When I drove, I voice command Google to play songs on YouTube or even change the band / channel on Pandora. It's possible you might be able to do the same switch Sirious XM stations. This would be a 'Plan B' if the Blutooth interface doesn't let you switch channels.

Same I can change stuff and volume on my steering wheel. I haven’t tried voice commands. Even with Siri on my iPhone I always feel weird talking to it lol.

Did you get the recall for the electric power steering failures and the ignition switch that can switch off while driving and kill you? Mine's had 4 or 5 recalls so far. I've just replaced the lower control arms AGAIN in February and discovered all of the fuel lines rusting out worse than most vehicles over 20 years old. These cars are huge piles of DOOK.

Yup.

I've thought about getting a new car but not having a monthly payment sure is nice. Current car is 08 Scion tC purchased in 07, so it's quite old. Almost to 180k miles though so I feel like I should at least hit 200k before getting rid of it. I want another small car like it with a manual, so options are pretty limited these days. I was thinking something like a Mazda 3 but looking into those now the newest model doesn't have a manual anymore wtf.

The Mazda 3 AWD carries the same engine as the previous generation, a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder that makes 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, all pumped through either a six-speed automatic transmission or, yes, a six-speed manual, though you can only get the manual on a premium hatchback trim, and in front-wheel drive.

Ah didn't check the premium trim on the hatchback. I have a hatchback now and I'm fine with that style, but MSRP is $27,500 which is a bit much for this car imo. At that price range I'd probably start looking into hybrids instead.

Have you checked out the Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line, I think it’s in the low 20s, turbo and a manual...maybe a pano sunroof too

I have not. Looks pretty nice along with the Veloster. I'll probably hold off another year or two. While I'd like to remain with a manual, I'm also interested in going with a hybrid or even full electric at some point. Maybe once that time comes to buy I'll be living somewhere I can actually plug in.

Hyundai has a pretty good lineup of hybrids and electrics. Up there with Toyota at least. The Kona looks pretty nice. Closer to a Tesla than anything else.

Seriously, congrats Swede

When I'm at my trucking terminal I see our dispatchers with multiple screens and apps open with each one overseeing lots of trucks. I thought about it, but I hate doing that level of multitasking, especially while on the phone at the same time.

I'm sure running trains has it's own unique challenges.

Yes, that's pretty much it, having done some practical training between studying and it gets messy pretty fast in the head lol.
They give us about 6-8 months of overseeing before they let us off to work independently, so hurry up and visit Sweden when it's still safe to travel here lol

What are your guys' feelings on having young children on the backs of motorcycles?
I know it's probably safe. But I cant help cringe a little when I see it.
