They do with a lot of games now, Rocket League being an example.I have a hard time believing Sony will allow cross play, but if so, that is great.
If I get this game, I will absolutely be turning off PC players. Bump that junk

It's on my radar...this is the rirst time since Blacks Ops 1 that I am considering a COD game.I gotta say, this may be back on my radar this fall (it isn't like there's a ton of other games coming out). 100 player MP with vehicles? Yes please.
It is done. When the open beta starts on Sep 21 the crossplay between PS4, X1 and Pc will go live for testing.I have a hard time believing Sony will allow cross play, but if so, that is great.
Is it pay to win?I am sold on this game now. 3 things that have sold me.
- Projectile based weapons. No more archaic hit scan rubbish.
- Map Design. No more 3 lane crappy design.
- Dedicated Servers. Confirmed across all platforms.
So, pretty much everything that is bad about COD seems to be gone. Only thing left is Activisions scummy Microtransations...which i'm sure will f*** tgis game up one way or another.

No clue in regards to tgis new game.Is it pay to win?
I think this is interesting. If they can pull it off and vehicles feel good to use tgen COD sales could skyrocket thanks to Dice destroying BF with BF5.Not sure how I feel about vehicles in COD. I don't have fond memories of them on PC back in the day, but that might just be because I sucked

Not sure about previous games since I didn't play them. However, in BO4 they were selling dots for scopes, that could be considered pay to win for some folk.
of course they are pay to win(assumming you cant unlock the exact same thing). A different shape and/or color dot can make a big difference, but which is best is subjective, hence why I said "some folk" will consider it pay to win. Gun sights are not cosmetic. You can get different dots from just playing the game also I unlocked some in the each season. I wouldn’t consider dots pay to win. Plus all but the regular ones are not even worth using just for show. I’ve been playing BO4 weekly since release, I’ve never felt at a disadvantage because another player bought stuff with real money.
I've been watching more videos and I'm not sure the COD faster time to kill is going to work in a 64 player BF type game. Jackfrags latest video (I don't think it was even him playing) looks kind of frustrating. People peek a corner and get killed from anywhere. Granted the footage was on PC and maybe people were just good.
It looks interesting, but I can see it being frustrating, especially if the usual lag comp issues pop up. Not to mention there's going to be snipers everywhere on bigger maps. Bullet drop should help a little, but people won't have much problem adjusting.
For all modes or just that mode? All the time?Lag comp shouldn't be a thing with dedicated servers being confirmed across all platforms.
TTK is fine in BF5, and the TTK in COD looks pretty similar.

In my many hours of BF5, I never had a single instance of what I would consider "bulls***."Dedicated servers can still have lag compensation. Obviously servers are way better, but there can still be issues with netcode, tick rate, etc.
Just as an example, BF V obviously has servers but there are still tons of netcode issues.

They just said dedicated servers across all platforms. That implies for all modes, but they didn't say that specifically. For all modes or just that mode? All the time?
That is what lag comp is. The time it takes for packets to reach their destination. Higher pings and wildly varying pings in alobby is what causes the issue. That it why you will rarely see it on dedicated servers, because the general ping of all in the lobby is more consistent.
The instant kill on BF5 for example wasn't lag comp. The issue is you are sent all packets at once, that makes it look like you died instantly. But in reality, you were hit normally and damaged registered normally but the packets were sent abnormally.
Nobody is saying dedicated servers can't have issues.
No it isn't. You can't make a laggy person look non laggy..No, you are confusing lag and lag compensation. If someone is on a dedicated server and has a high ping, that's lag. Lag compensation is when the game/server tries to even the playing field by trying to do some funny things to make a laggy person not seem so laggy (a classic example is when you shoot someone on your screen, but they aren't really there).
Without lag compensation, the person with the lowest ping as the biggest advantage (this is how games were way back when). With lag comp, the person with the worst connection gets "help" by the netcode to help even things out (compensate). If you ever play a game where it seems the better your connection, the worse things get, that's usually why.
Most times on dedicated servers, lag comp is pretty minimal (someone with a bad ping is still pretty bad, just not as bad).

Ahhh! Now we on personal attacks and my opinion is the only opinion stick.I know you always think you’re right about everything, but you are wrong about this. It is not pay to win in this game. If you saw the sights you get they do not get you an advantage at all. I’ve put hundreds of hours into the game (and every game except the bad futuristic ones) I think I know what I’m talking about when it comes to CoD.

You do know they sold a plain red dot, right. That isn't decorative or unusable. so, yeah. Also remember that this convo started based on a question about this game.I used tge BO4 example to show that it could be pay to win if they expand on that idea and go further.. Sights not being decorative isn't subjective.
You probubly are right. But I 'm not saying they are one thing or another either. I used BO4 as example of them selling non cosmetic things that do impact the game, that is all.I was mainly joking with my comment about you. Whatever you say not going to argue with you.I’m right though about BO4.
You unlock the plain red dot and other colors without paying anything.

Do you really think they wont expand on that now that CODs only post launch revenue stream is microtransactions? Sure, that doesn't make it pay to win, but all it takes is one and boom!
I assume we both agree that sights are not cosmetic, right?
