Mixer being Shut down

Yeah advertising other people seems ok, but porn? That's crossing a big line IMHO. His audience is probably a lot of kids.

To me that is crossing a line and trying to damage his brand. Without the porn though I don't think he has a beef.

Lol ninja getting butthurt by that lol
Come on, this generation of kids either are extremely privileged or feel that they should be. Kid got $xx millions and complain about this, lol

It was a channel they linked to ninjas account.

Because it was listed under Fortnite and it gained a lot of views. The failure was not shutting down the channel faster. They didn't hand pick the channels that got recommended.

But again he is complaining about them advertising other channels in general. Its not about the porn. He doesn't want them to advertise anybody.

No. They are using his name/channel to promote otther channels. That is his issue.

Twitch going low

Other than porn not being picked up by censors/mods, what's the problem? He's not on the platform anymore. His channel is likely still getting lots of hits. I'm not seeing what the issue is? Does he expect them to make a forward to his Mixer account? 'You may be looking for Ninja, but he's no longer here. Here are some other streamers you may like.'

Ninjas complaint is they don't advertise channels on any other dormant channels but yeah at that point he was mainly upset about the porn.
Not being into the whole steamer scene anyways it's a bit meh to me but Twitch isn't having a good time at the moment with a female streamer not being punished for recording herself be cruel to her dog more than once

He just left. I'm sure other popular steamers, for a time, had some advertising when they left. Also, were any of them as big as he was? Probably not.

Yeah, they need to get rid of that a****** dog abuser.

According to reports and him it doesn't happen to other abandoned channels but yeah at the end of the day

But if he's asked for it to be closed it should just be closed.
Guy makes a lot of money doing what he does

Yeah that's what I'm saying. There is nothing wrong with that them doing that.
Yes there is. How is using another persons name/brand (without their permission) to promote things not wrong. He has a right to be pissed.

Who legally owns his username on twitch?
It is his username. It is his channel. He created them. He built them.

Really is staggering how much leeway people give these shiity companies snd their s***ty tactics.

Because they aren't using his brand to promote things. They are the site they own to promote streams on the site they own. If it appears he is the one promoting the other streams I might agree but that isn't the case.

They invested in Ninja and his "brand" and now they want to drive some of those users to other channels because he is gone. They used to advertise Ninja in ads that were played during streams. Yeah the circumstances are different but the bottom line was it was ok because it benefited him.

I could go either way. Since he is gone and people may not know, I can see Twitch saying here are some people you may be interested in. But it's also pretty scummy to continue to profit off Ninja's name and everything he has built.

Nothing different than when a TV show leaves a streaming service and then having a suggestions of other shows you may like. He also has no problems leaving his donation page up to get donations from people on a platform he's no longer using. And links to swag he's selling. And links to affiliates he gets money from.

Something they helped build

It has his damned name attached to it.

Anyone got a source on the legalities of his name/ account on twitch? I'm convinced there's an easy way to settle this, if he agreed to them using his username etc. to promote things when he signed up, he shouldn't complain imo

Yeah presumably he signed some sort of user agreement when signing up (those things that nobody ever reads but should). I'm sure he doesn't "own" anything.

On a site he doesn't own.

I get recommendations on youtube when I watch something. Is anyone offended by that?
True, but if I go to someone's YouTube page, i only see their stuff. Would CBS like it if they were advertising FOX shows within their own home page?

Never heard of them besides Ninja and Shroud. I watched Shroud a bit when he was on Apex but haven't much lately. Never used Mixer until I got my X recently and it seems like a decent enough service. Not sure how ads work but it is a complete mess on Twitch. You can't just skip around browsing streams because you'll get stuck with an ad everytime. The few times I've watched Shroud there haven't been any. And maybe Shroud just has them disabled since he's making so much money anyways.
